Who would you say is the better MMA grappler out of these 2 in terms of pure effectiveness? When considering all grappling skills/arts relevant to MMA. You can take into account takedowns, trips, takedown defense, top control, bottom game, sub offense/defense, ground and pound, and whatever else you consider relevant.

Probably the one with the most submission victories in UFC history. Stupid fucking question.
Charles also has 36 fights in the UFC to Brady's 10.... are you unable to understand basic context?

You wouldn't have this same response when comparing Charles to Islam or Chimaev... or maybe you would, some of you on here are not too bright.

Charles. Brady is the better wrestler and top game guy, but overall Charles is better in my opinion -- he's dangerous from bottom, top, everywhere. Charles is especially better at back takes and at using ground and pound to help advance position, which is a part of mma grappling

Defensivley I'd say it's Brady. Offensively, I'd say it's Charles Oliveira.

I think it could be Brady, but he hasn't had the chance to show it yet Oliveira had a lot of opportunities to show off his grappling, it's a bit of an unfair comparison, need to see more from Brady.

Charles would most likely put him away in a mma fight

Grappling match might be different

In a straight grappling match Brady would probably decision Olives. He has a win over juiced out, coked out Craig Jones FFS. In MMA Olives is infinitely a better grappler. I'd say P4P one of the top 3 MMA grapplers ever.

It's hard to say and not really a good comparison. Charles has been fighting forever and has 48 fights. Sean only has 20 fights. Of course Charles has a lot more highlight reels and submissions. He also has more losses and has been submitted 4 times. Career wise,

Charles: 22 wins by sub, 4 losses by sub (48 total fights)
Sean: 6 wins by sub, 0 losses by sub (20 total fights)

I was going to say Nate Diaz would be a better comparison, but Nate only has 34 fights.
Nate: 12 wins by sub, 1 loss by sub

Even Werdum (33 fights, 12 wins by sub) and Frank mir (32 fights, 9 wins by sub) don't have the number of fights/subs.

Maybe Jeremy Horn could be a comparison (54 wins by sub and 8 losses by sub) but he spent a lot of his career in the minor leagues. Charles has fought the vast majority of his fights in the UFC.

Exactly. You could just as easily say Charles has been submitted 4 times but Sean never has.
