“Look, there’s nothing confirmed about my fight, Max Holloway and I for January,” Oliveira shared on his Instagram stories. “I’m on vacation with my family. Then that comes out and there’s a
lot of people calling me, tagging me. So far, we don’t know anything. It certainly won’t be in January, just to make it clear. But this fight will happen. I want it, he wants it, and you also want it.”

“We’re just waiting for the contract, but if I'm correct I believe it should be around April or so, thus I expect to have some news soon,” Oliveira confirmed. “That the info came out, it means that
something is coming. Not now though, but soon.”

Oliveira probably hasn't heard anything because if it's only Holloway he's interested in, the UFC will wait until both are ready. He could be saying he wants to fight in January and he doesn't care who the opponent is. That worked out well for Cerrone when he was tearing through the division.
