Law Canada's Looming Constitutional Crisis

Don't you see how the exact same logic applies? Isn't it perfectly okay for Anglo-Quebecers to have their own areas with their own culture? So then why are they subject to laws which specifically target the English language? It would be like if the federal government had laws openly designed to marginalize French.
I see what you're saying, I just think it is flawed logic. If the places they get are as miniature as what Asian people get here, it's pretty much irrelevant. Even among the Asian people who live in the US, it's a small portion that live or hang out in places like Chinatown. It's not too much to ask that 7-8% learn another language and adapt. You need to learn English for the most part to live in the US, and those who don't are at a huge disadvantage economically and could be put in really dangerous situations (like their child has a medical emergency and they can't talk to the paramedics to tell them what's wrong). It's not even that hard when you live in a place where everyone speaks it- the people I know who came from Romania to the US learned English in about 6 months from watching TV and making efforts to learn when they went places.

French Canadians are 11% of Canada, pretty comparable to Quebec being 8% English.

So we aren't talking about Quebec anymore? You generalize the argument when you are losing the specific argument?
