We all saw what happened to TJ with a bum shoulder.
Woodley tore his rotator cuff against Damien fricking Maia halfway into the 1st round and not only completed all 5 rounds but he outlanded Maia, defended all of Maia's TD attempts (0/21) and won the fight. Literally did all that with 1 working arm.

Instead of calling that fight a bum, boring fight we need to appreciate Woodley for his performance. TJ in a similar situation couldn't make it out 2 rounds.

Tearing a rotator cuff is NOT the same as dislocating the shoulder.

You're a 1-armed fighter with a dislocated shoulder. You can still use your shoulder to some degree if the rotator cuff is torn. Cejudo also tore his against Moraes and was still atleast able to punch and grapple with it. Same with T wood.

I'm beyond blown away how TJ even got sanctioned for this fight.

Dude lost to a Disney youtuber, Woodley should never be respected again, ever.

Very good question, clearly it was a problem for a while, you'd be up in arms if you bet money on him, very suss.

I like Woodley and his reign on top in UFC. I was just joking about his Jake Paul loss, dude deserves all his credit for fighting through injury.

Woodley doesn’t fight for the first 4 rounds though. He stays on the cage circling so it wouldn’t matter if he’s injured or not.

I had money on Sterling so I wasn't complaining. But a valid question is why was he sanctioned. First guys hiding the fact they have staff infection now guys hiding dislocated shoulders. What's next?

Woodley lost all his credits when he got iced by Jake fucking Paul.

Bro could run into a burning house and save an entire family and I'll still hold the Jake Paul loss against him.

It's truly amazing some of the stuff people can say on the internet without even thinking twice about it.

It was a joke about him "making MMA look bad" against boxing that he wouldn't get credit for anything again. Of course I truly do credit Woodley for everything he did in combat sports and in his life outside fighting. Damn man I was rooting for him in all of his title fights even against Thompson when everyone was on that hype train.

But I apologize for the shit joke.

I’m honestly not kidding but I never found a single woodley fight boring. He always had that knockout power waiting to be unleashed so I was never able to take my eyes off him for a second.

People forget the Robbie fight ended violently in the 1st round. The first WB fight was exciting. Second one was trash. The Maia fight sucked but Woodley was fighting with 1 good arm. Woodley absolutely blew Till out of the cage.
Then Woodley's string of shitty performances began.

Definitely not the same injury.

Like others have already stated. You can still use an arm with a torn rotator cuff, it isn't the same as a dislocation which renders you unable to use the arm at all.

That being said. Woodley with two healthy arms generally just stands with his back to the cage and throws around 4 striked per round. The Maia fight wasn't an abnormality for him.

Nobody disputes his toughness or his skill, they just recognise that unless his opponent brought the fight to him he was boring.

Woodley brought the fights to Robbie, koscheck, WB and Till.
WB is notoriously boring if his opponents don't chase him around and make him fight.
Maia too has been in some unbelievably boring fights.

So let's not put all the blame on Woodley for those fights.
