not saying he can stop Aljo’s TD but he can make him work hard for it

I would think it's not so much the takedowns that will determine the fight, but I would only give O'Malley the edge if we's able to keep the distance, use his length and pick aljo apart. which I don't see happening.

I forget who I heard talk about it recently but they said they have little hope for O'Malley vs Aljo, that O'Malley outspokenly chose to avoid tougher tests and wrestlers, so we haven't even seen him face a guy like Aljo yet. And that it could be a disservice to himself, you need those tough tests and different looks.

Petr Yan was a pretty tough test. He didn't really pass it with flying colours but he definitely showed he's game.

Yan also isn't a wrestler and was still taking O'Malley down. That's cause for concern.

This whole fight really gets decided by footwork. Suga's pretty light on his feet and moves well. The moment he fucks up his footwork or stops moving too much, Aljo will be taking him down.

I'd argue that it's more a case of whether he can he use evasive footwork effectively enough to make shots unadvisable on the champ's part.
