A deal has been reached for Troy Williamson to fight Callum Simpson, according to Williamson’s promoter Eddie Hearn.

There had remained the possibility of purse bids taking place for an appealing fight between Simpson and his fellow Briton Hamzah Sheeraz for the European title, but Matchroom’s Hearn told BoxingScene: “We’ve agreed a deal for Troy Williamson to fight Callum Simpson, so that will be Boxxer’s next show – Callum Simpson against Troy Williamson. That will be in November, December.”

The rearranged British heavyweight title fight between Frazer Clarke and Jeamie Tshikeva has already been confirmed for November 29 at Vaillant Live in Derby, England and represents the start of the partnership between Boxxer and the BBC.

@MMALOPEZ the thread title made me think Cobbs was fighting a literal whale, like when Tony Galento fought an octopus
Wouldve been more entertaining than the actual fight announcement. Cobbs is overrated as hell

Happy for Troy, Simpson needs to learn how to slip a right land and those pitter patter shots in the clinch were wasting energy.

I’m made up for Williamson. Stepping up 2 weight classes as well and derailing that hype train.

I’ve never been sold on Simpson. He’s too quick to get in to brawls when he doesn’t generally need to, based on his physical advantages. He’s not got great footwork either. Always thought he was British title level but no more. Still didn’t think it would be Williamson taking his 0
