The movie starts out in the early 30's in the Mississippi Delta. So that would be Charley Patton, Son House, Willie Brown, Tommy Johnson.The Mississippi Sheiks, Bo Carter and Ishman Bracey, Robert Johnson showed up in 1936.

Muddy Wtaters was around but had yet to record, that was done right there on the Stovall Plantation in 1941,
