Brian Ortega vs Ryan Hall, how do you see this fight going?

Ortega actually has some striking ability. I'd favour him.

The ground exchanges could be fun though.

that aside, T-City has poor striking but looks far more competent than Ryan. I actually fear for Ryan's safety when he steps in there. I'm hoping they give him guys like Ortega for the next year or so.

Can't pick, Ortega is a great bjj guy. So is Hall. My brain says Hall would catch him eventually.

like a lot of fights that have two high level grapplers it will probably end up on the feet where hall will get tkod

Daaaang. I like it. The ground battle would be sweet. Ortega does have the better striking though so he should be rightfully favored.

Once Ryan gets loose with his jits he will probably tap ortega.
against ortega he has less to fear striking wise and he might open up more.
then again Brian Ortega has been a BEAST so far. Beating thiago tavares is crazy.

Hall is a better grappler. Ortega has better standup but Hall is getting better with each fight. He's definitly competent at this point.

Yeps it could be that Rayn taps Ortega fast if they end in ground. Or Ortega could first good BJJ fighter that Rayn has faced that could nullify Rayns offence. Rayn for sure more has crediantals in BJJ but so did Pelhares when he faced Alan Belcher...

This is why Ryan Hall is good for the UFC, he makes match ups like this VERY interesting. It'd be the same story with an Oliveira fight.

In this one I think Hall is a level above on the ground, Ryan's finished more traingles than TCity has had hot dinners. I think Hall would be confident working him over on the mat. Ortega's striking is better at the moment though, we'd have to see how well Ryan's striking develops but at the moment TCity has the edge.

If it went to the ground I could see Ryan eventually getting the tap, probably from a leg lock.

Why is everyone so confident that Ryan Hall's BJJ is at a higher level than Ortega's?

He looked impressive against Lobov, but I really don't know much about this kid.

Ryan has over 200 triangle finishes in grappling competition and has what is generally regarded as the best instructional on the topic.

Because it simply is.

Ryan Hall is one of the worlds leading authorities on the triangle choke, he's got over 200 wins with it and pioneered the stomp and curl finish which is now considered the best way to finish a triangle, Ortega used that very technique to tap Brandao so quickly. Even the Gracies acknowledge Ryan's technique.

Same with the 50/50, he named the position and is only matched by a couple of others when rolling in that position, and we're talking about guys like Rafa Mendes here. If Ryan got in that position with TCity, his Gracie background wouldn't mean shit. I don't believe there's any position on the ground that Bryan has a clear advantage in, whereas Ryan definitely has the edge in a number of areas.

Cool. Had no clue. I don't think he triangles Ortega though.

I don't think either guy would get triangled, they'd cancel each other out in that respect. Here's Ryan's instructional by the way, very similar to the technique Ortega used to finish the other night.

My prediction.
Both guys tap out at the same time to leg locks.
First ever double tap out.
You never know.
