Brandon Halsey is a nice prospect at 185 that no one is really talking about. Strong ground game with a legit wrestling background, strong as an ox, 7-0 undefeated already in line for a Bellator title shot against Schlemenko. I think he'll come in as an underdog but exploit some of the holes in Storm's game and take home a title belt.

What do you guys think about Halsey and his ceiling in the sports 185 pound division?

Halsey-Vasilevsky would clear up who is the best prospect out of UFC at MW imo
The only legit test Halsey has faced is Brett Cooper, who is legit but not top 20 by any means.
Still, I think Halsey will outgrapple Shlemenko. Shame there is almost nothing in Bellator at MW.
Wins over guys as David Branch, or of course Okami, would give him much more credit than the journeymans from Bellator

He's coming for that belt, been saying it since he dropped from 205. Been a fan of his since his debut.

I agree that he's gonna outgrapple and possibly sub Shlemenko. Hopefully Bellator can sign some quality 185ers because it's one of their weakest divisions.

I like that he is a thinking man's fighter. I think he should nickname himself 'cerebral'. Brandon 'cerebral' Halsey

The problem is there are not much legit MWs out there for Bellator to sign.
Khalidov and Materla are very well in KSW. Same with Slava at M1.
David Branch and Okami get good money at WSOF as well
Other option would be to pick some UFC cast off but Bellator only sign them if they are draws, and UFC only release top fighters if they are not draws. For example, if UFC releases, to say Carmont, I dont expect Bellator to sign him, as they didnt with Okami.

I hope Hasley defends the belt a couple of times, and then look for higher challenges

He's looked pretty good so far. I think he has a good chance to beat Schlemenko if he can make it his fight.

If he gets standup he's the best MW in the world outside of Weidman. Plain and simple. But that's a big if

The guy has potential but you're taking it waaaaaay too far at this point.

does anyone think on Hasley vs McCrory?

I saw McCrory very solid the last fight

He's a really good grappler. That's the most crucial part of mma and he's got it down. If he can put that standup together and make it decent enough to keep guys honest, then Bellator's MW division stands no chance.

Any idea what camp he trains out of?

its not delusional to think if he gets striking as good as his wrestling he's the best MW in the world besides CW

We'll see how he does against Storm first. He looks great and he keeps improving with every fight, but it's hard to be #2 in a division with Souza, Silva, Mousasi, Rockhold, Machida, Bisping, Kennedy all in the top ten.
