At a Taiwan Hearthstone tournament, professional Hearthstone player Ng Wai “blitzchung” Chung made the comment "Liberate Hong Kong, revolution of our times!" which is used by protesters in Hong Kong.
In response to his comment Blizzard rescinded his pool money, suspended him for 12 months, and fired the 2 Taiwanese interviewers.

Here's Blizzards official response
During the Asia-Pacific Grandmasters broadcast over the weekend there was a competition rule violation during a post-match interview, involving Blitzchung and two casters, which resulted in the removal of the match VOD replay.

Upon further review we have found the action has violated the 2019 Hearthstone Grandmasters Official Competition Rules section 6.1 (o) and is individual behavior which does not represent Blizzard or Hearthstone Esports. 6.1 (o) is found below.

2019 HEARTHSTONE® GRANDMASTERS OFFICIAL COMPETITION RULES v1.4 p.12, Section 6.1 (o)

Engaging in any act that, in Blizzard’s sole discretion, brings you into public disrepute, offends a portion or group of the public, or otherwise damages Blizzard image will result in removal from Grandmasters and reduction of the player’s prize total to $0 USD, in addition to other remedies which may be provided for under the Handbook and Blizzard’s Website Terms.

Grandmasters is the highest tier of Hearthstone Esports and we take tournament rule violations very seriously. After an investigation, we are taking the necessary actions to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.

Effective immediately, Blitzchung is removed from Grandmasters and will receive no prizing for Grandmasters Season 2. Additionally, Blitzchung is ineligible to participate in Hearthstone esports for 12 months beginning from Oct. 5th, 2019 and extending to Oct. 5th, 2020. We will also immediately cease working with both casters.

We’d like to re-emphasize tournament and player conduct within the Hearthstone esports community from both players and talent. While we stand by one’s right to express individual thoughts and opinions, players and other participants that elect to participate in our esports competitions must abide by the official competition rules.

We all know the horrific human rights violations that China is committing against it's citizens including genocide, organ harvesting, torture, and jailing anyone that disagrees with the ruling party.
This is the country that Blizzard bends the knee too. This is disgusting that a US company is allowing China to censor people world wide and we as gamers need to hold Blizzard accountable for their actions with our wallets.

A couple of congressmen have commented on the situation

That's crazy talk. China's influence is highly disturbing, one big reason I don't support epic, as Tencent has a 40% share in them

Look at these opportunistic heroes stepping up, fuck Activision/Blizzard

South Park's last episode couldn't be more timely, fuck China

love their "apology"

Uninstalled all my blizzard games today.

Hots and Hearthstone have been getting progressively worse and worse but this is the last straw.

If you want your chinese masters to feed you, go bow to them like the cowardly dogs you are.

Blizzard even pulled a China on their subreddit.

Just plain shitty behavior on Blizzard's part. And yeah, it'd be great if American customers would hold Blizzard accountable for prioritizing the Chinese market over common decency. I won't get my hopes up though, but I at least won't be buying anything they make if this keeps up.

I haven't played a Blizzard game in a while and I guess I won't be any time soon.

I will do my best to convince my WoW addict friends and family to drop the game.

Honestly, I doubt it will have any real impact on Blizzard, but change starts in the individual. I'll do my part.

Oof, just had Ashes of Alar drop for me tonight. Was hoping to enjoy cruising on that bad boy. But yeah cancelling my WoW sub.

Abhorrent shit.

Never played WoW and uninstalled Hearthstone.

Screw Blizzard.

Congrats!
I subbed to that game for 9 months just to get that mount

I mean, I won't stop playing games I already paid for. I haven't paid for HS in literally years. I will continue to play Wc3 for fun. But I won't be buying any new products.

pssh, i've been hating blizzard well before it was cool.

this shit's ridiculous, though.

Haven't cared about Blizzard since they screwed up Diablo.

Wow blizzard really scrambling to jump on china's Wang there. The cock sucking and the kowtowing is truly low here

Meh, private company. Let them do what they want.

That being said, I won’t be associating with anything relating to them as my choice as a consumer.

The entire MOP expansion in wow was kissing chinese ass. Not surprised
