I took a seminar with Dave Banch once, he's a phenom on the ground, and is an undefeated MMA fighter training under one of my former instructors. The training there is top notch.
There's a bunch of good schools in the area. I recommend trying the ones you are considering to find a good fit with the instruction and the school atmosphere. Mine is in Lodi, NJ and we are open on Sundays.
I'm a Renzo Gracie Black Belt (one of his original students in the U.S.) and still train at his NYC Academy 5 days/week. The web site has schedule, location, contact info etc. Feel free to call with any questions.
Karl Pravec Silver Fox Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Lodi New Jersey - Home
I highly recommend paying Silver Fox BJJ a visit. World Class instruction from Karel "Fox" Pravec who's a Black belt under Renzo Gracie. He has been training with him for 20+ years and still trains 5 days a week with John Danaher and Renzo Gracie. They're open 7 days a week and varies times throughout the day for the varying schedules people may have. His students are known for being very technical and they have a great motivating atmosphere. Give them a call 201-398-6032 or check out their website www.SilverFoxBJJ.com
A lot of really good high school wrasslin too. Bergen Catholic is the top school in Bergen.
Also there is the Kokushi Dojo somewhere in Bergen where they teach judo and karate. The Ridgewood YMCA and Fort Lee recreation center offer judo for children. f
