ill be traveling to southern CA for work, I travel quite a bit and BJJ has been closed in CA as far as I can tell. A google search shows gyms are now allowed ?

I’m currently living in AZ and there was very little covid restrictions compared to CA

A lot of gyms are open, but keeping it kind of on the DL. They might not be as open to drop-ins as they usually are.

I read an article about The reopening phase that just started today which says gyms are allowed to open, but I’m guessing they probably have to apply to open or get a license or something.

Well that sucks for now guess I’ll just keep jogging or something

Only 4 states protect businesses from covid lawsuits .

Guidelines say to have 6 ft distance if POSSIBLE. Obviously you can't have that with full contact in BJJ.

A lawyer here in AZ informed me that martials arts schools that allow full contact, they can be liable and sued. Risky for all BJJ schools if someone contract covid from there academy.

Yes , rolling without face masks or anything. Classes are super small like less than 10 of us at any time.

How are you guys getting around the 6ft social distancing guideline? did they do away with that for businesses inside California?

Here in Hawaii, we are not cleared for contact, I will have to open for solo drills only

There's a 6 foot distancing guideline ? News to me.

The only difference is that they check our temp before class and there's hand sanitizer. That's it. Everything else is the same

All the gyms/academies are closed for the time being, I'm from NorCal though so idk what it's like in southern CA

the CDC social distancing guideline pushed nationally repeatedly

ATOSHQ claims to be opening soon (so says their website).

Don't know what capacity though

CA governor just reordered shutdown of all indoor gyms throughout the state. Not sure if everyone will comply though

my gym is again closed since the lockdown from last november, this time I made a makeshift dojo and invite 2-3 friends to train , drill new techniques and roll as I cannot stay without BJJ like the last 3 months lockdown.
