I'm looking to start training BJJ within the next few weeks. I live in Indianapolis, and want to train at a gym that also has striking components as well because I eventually plan to transition into MMA once my BJJ becomes solid. Should I train at MMA Fit Club (10th Planet JJ Indy) or American Top Team Indianapolis?

I knew a guy whos little brother trained at ATT Indy. Theyre both in prison now.

Probably doesnt help your decision any...I trained at Greg Eldreds place years ago. Hes the real deal. I dont recall either of those places youre asking about being open when I lived there.

MMA Fit Club just opened up somewhat recently. I'm interested in the whole 10th Planet philosophy of jiu-jitsu. I'm sorta leaning towards going there right now.

Try out a few gyms. Factor in drive time, too. If it's convenient, you're more likely to stick with it.

What philosophy is that? Not being a jerk I am just curious to what the perception is.

I understand. Philosophy may not be the best fitting word. It just seems that 10th Planet and no-gi jiu-jitsu period translates to MMA better than gi jiu-jitsu, because it doesn't rely on "handles" such as the gi. However, at some point I'd like to go back and learn gi JJ at some point too.
