Bilal Hasan Time

Is he on TUF or did he pass on it?
I know some North American flyweights weren't interested in competing on TUF

Pretty sure he passed on it. Bilal was the U18 Pan American Tae Kwon Do gold medalist, he ended up pursuing MMA full time instead of the Olympics, he's also been cross training with Mighty Mouse and Hume since highschool. Kids a real talent, US doesn't have many.
 
Yeah I watched that card specifically to see Hasan fight and he delivered. That body shot was brutal.


I expect he will be on the Contender Series this summer if they don't just sign him outright.
 
Looks a very nice prospect, really sharp striking.

I'd like to see him fight a more experienced opponent next, but he's getting a good build it looks like.

There are guys out there who will fight anyone. As long as it's not another cool prospect like Imanol, I'd say one more fight against someone with 10 or more fights.

From what I've heard even those guys don't want to fight him.

He's due to a for a step up in competition, at only 6-0 he should consider joining the LFA or doing UAE Warriors even. Have 3 fights or so with steps up in competition and then either UFC directly or Contender Series/Road to UFC.

It's also worth noting that Charlie his head coach works for ONE. Though I'm not sure they're signing fighters, being from Indonesia would be work.

ONE has like 12 MMA fighters on its entire roster and can barely get them fights. I get that money is money but it's career suicide. Get the like 6 MMA fighters that are good they have signed the fuck out of there and let it be a kickboxing promotion..

I agree with you both!

But, it does look like a possibility. I'd love Maurice Abevi to either get a release or regular fights too.

Fwiw I think he has sent fighters to UFC before so it's probably down to what the fighter wants and who offers first.

But I'd much rather he signed for an MMA org than the Muay Thai one.

My former teammate Hanna Palmqvist was stuck with a One contract but has finally been released.

She got a short notice fight in One to make her pro debut. She won but afterwards they didnt have any opponents available in her weightclass so they only offered her bigger opponents which she declined. She had to wait for 6 months until her contract expired. Shes now scheduled to make her 2nd pro fight next months. It will be 11 months between her first pro fight and her second.
 
He needs a nickname. I'm thinking Bilal "Remember the Name" Husan
