What do you think is the biggest upset in UFC history?
You can out it in order.

*idk why the put rockhold there, I'm gonna change that one for cyborg*

a) Matt Serra defeating GSP (2007)
GSP was a huge favorite (-1300), I mean almost anybody gave Serra a chance and he finished GSP in the first round.

b) Chris Weidman defeating Anderson Silva (2013)
Silva was looking unstoppable, one of the most dominant champs ever, with a 17 win streak at the moment. Weidman knocking him out cold in the second round.

c) Holly Holm defeating Ronda Rousey (2015)
Rousey was a very dominant and undefeated champ who finished almost everybody in the first round, Holm biggest underdog ever (+850). Knocked her out cold in the second round.

90

d) Rose Namajunas defeating Joanna Jedrzejczyk (2017)
Joanna was undefeated as well, she was a huge favorite. Nobody really expected Rose to make Joanna tap to strikes.

e) Amanda Nunes defeating Cris Cyborg (2018)
Cyborg was one of the most dominant and scariest champs ever, 13 years undefeated. Amanda Nunes knocked her out cold in the first round.

The right answer is Serra vs GSP.

Serra vs GSP for sure

Anderson was around -200-250 iirc. It may have been shocking, but wasn’t that big of an upset.

Serra vs GSP is the easy answer IMO.

Serra and GSP, although Bisping / Rockhold was close, it was like -600 Rockhold. Silva/Weidman, while an upset, was also bound to happen once you reach your late 30's early 40's as a counter striker.

Forrest vs shogun 1 hit people in the feelings

Can't really argue against Serra and Holm, but Holly destroying Ronda had the most impact by far. It reached the mainstream news and shattered an insane hype. Also people were more wrong about it, if that make sense : Serra-GSP was fluckey, while, despite similar odds, Ronda had actually nothing for Holm and a rematch would have ended just the same.

Conor fans when Khabib beat him

Oh my bad I thought the thread was about who was the most upset

Serra vs GSP, there isno debate about it and never will be. It would be pretty odd to see a mismatch like that again.

Agree with everyone else. It’s Serra-GSP. Odds-wise, it might’ve been Holly-Ronda, I’d have to check. But the oddsmakers had that one fucked up.

Nah. None of those are even close to the biggest upset in UFC history.
That was when little guy BJ Penn moved up a weightclass and finished the no 1 p4p fighter Matt Hughes. Nobody believed it was possible.

Actually, the odds were not even close to "biggest".
