Movies Big or Home Alone - Which is the better film?

Two classic childhood films. For many of us.

Both are big movies. But 1 gets replayed ALOT more than the other.

Home Alone. It's great and has that classic John Hughes feel and is something everyone can watch during the holidays. Plus it's pretty damned quotable and Culkin may be one of the best child actors too.

Big has creepy diddler vibes throughout plus Tom Hanks ended up moving to Greece because he's a diddler and Culkin probably got diddled. Maybe even by Hanks? So you gotta root for Culkin in the end.

I saw Big in theaters as a kid and I frickin loved it, never saw Home Alone, plus Tom Hanks is my favorite actor, easy choose for me

Both are great movies. I was born in 81 so they both came out when I was young so I grew up watching them. I love both but Home Alone is on a different level in my opinion.

Maybe it's growing up with guns in my house and learning to shoot at a young age, but I could never relate to Kevin's methods of dealing with the Wet Bandits.

But as a child I couldn't wait to be an adult (obviously not now that I am one...)

So I'm going with Big.

Maybe it's growing up with guns in my house and learning to shoot at a young age, but I could never relate to Kevin's methods of dealing with the Wet Bandits.

I grew up with guns too an all that but that didn't hinder my enjoyment of the movie at all. I enjoyed it straight up for what it was. Plus, Kevin and his family didn't seem like "gun" type of people, so that pretty much explained it.

As for his methods, you definitely need some suspension of disbelief, but it's all in good fun. And it's something I've never had an issue with.
