Better Light Gi: Koral vs. Atama

if you want light, go for vulkan.

You won't be disappointed

I was originally thinking Vulkan, but ran into some bad reviews... so I dunno

The Atama light weight it lighter with a thicker collar. However the Koral Lite has a better cut and fit. The Atama gi is cut and sized much larger tha the Atama Mundial #9 gi.

I personally like the Koral Lite. With the weight, it happens to be in between a summer lite gi (Vulcan) and lite pearl weave gi. The rip stop jacket makes it more unique.

Another nice lite gi is the Gameness Air gi which happens to be more affordable.

On sale Gameness Air Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Bjj Gi - $89.99

On sale White Koral Light Bjj Jiu-jitsu Kimono - $138.99

I have owned both kimonos. The Atama u/l has a better collar and is much harder to manipulate. The ripstop pants are a nice accompaniment to the top. Also the Atama is a slimmer cut.

Koral light was a tad lighter and felt more like summer pajamas. It came undone a lot and was very easy to get grips on.

Jus my .02.

Koral Light has the benefit of almost no shrinkage. I guess this isn't always an advantage, but if it fits you out of the bag, it will fit you, regardless of how often you toss it in the dryer.

The convenience of that is huge if you ever decide to train on your travels.
