Best & worst boxing in K-1 and K-1 MAX

MAX:
Petrosyan: picks his shots well, head movement
Masato: hand speed/combinations (seemed to lack power though)
RvR: punching power, body blows (has trouble closing the gap sometimes though)
Albert Kraus: punching power, combinations (has gotten slow though)
Marat & Harut Grigorian: constant, unceasing pressure, combinations (have lacking defense though)

^^ Gotta agree with the ones above. Remy's hands were respected by noone. Surprisingly enough he dropped quite a lot of people in the end of his career Zimmerman, Hari, Schilt. Makes you wonder...

Very true, and you could add Overeem to that list. Obviously offensive boxing never was his thing, but he did had pretty good timing and the best defense in the HW division.

I think Saki and Spong have the best boxing skills amongst the current heavy weights.

MAX: Petro.

Koya Urabe is fun to watch

this video also showed me that Ryuya Kusakabe takes a beating pretty well

K1 Max best: Zambidis, Roosmalen, Masato.....Kraus honorable mention

K1 Heavyweights: Bernardo and Saki

I wouldn't put Roosmalen at the top, even Zambidis is a questionable one. Petrosyan beats them all.

If we include the full boxing package I think Masato is tops. Had great offensive boxing plus also used footwork angles movement etc....and was entertaining but also smart. Petrosyan doesn't throw enough combinations for my liking and kind of pot shots...

Roosmalen and Zambidis are probably the best offensive boxers but have shitty footwork/mobility (especially Roosmalen) and defense and don't use angles/head-movement well. Zambidis was decently mobile in his prime (was always bouncing on his toes and pretty agile) but Roosmalen just plods forward.

Petrosyan is by far the best defensive boxer and has the best footwork by a long shot but he's also a southpaw and the others are not.

Kubo's boxing is pretty solid as far as kickboxers go. He's got good defense built into his stance.

Masato is quick, but he doesn't use angles as well as Petrosyan

so... best boxers
Masato
Zambidis
Petrosyan
Kraus

Worst in K1
Kid Yamamoto, I'm judging mainly from that fight with Masato, he has power, but no punching technique.

No one mentioning Virgil Kalakoda??

Watch his fight with Andy Souwer its the best boxing display from both fighters in k1 history.

Virgil didn't have much success in k1 unless you count exciting fights because he was always pressing forward to keep out of kicking range and it left him open to getting KO'd by Masato and Andy Souwer.

Still best boxing for sure.

No just no...

We are are talking about boxing in kickboxing...Doesn't matter if he had a pure boxing background as for all we know there are other kickboxers that could have done just as well in pure boxing....And he was outboxed on several occasions in K1 by several different fighters.

So no he doesn't have the "best boxing for sure"...You're just making an assumption based on the fact that he was a boxer (and only an average on at that) and we have no idea how Kraus, Zambidis, Masato, Roosmalen, Petrosyan etc would have done in pure boxing.

And I completely disagree with Souwer vs Virgil being the "best display of boxing in K1 history"...through it was a very good fight.

Gevorg easily.

He pot shots/never commits and almost never throws combinations...Plus he wouldn't be as good if he wasn't a southpaw.

Meh.......Getting bored of Petrosyan

Masato isn't anywhere near as good as Petrosyan, come on now.

I think Kohi deserves some mention as one of the worst. Dude looks absolutely lost without clinching while he's being pressured, got raped against Kalakoda.

Defense is part of boxing. Petrosyan doesn't get hit much because he doesn't stand in front of guys and combo spam like everyone else does. So what if he pot shots, Mayweather does too.
