Hey right now I live in New Mexico and there is no shortage of quality boxing gyms. However I'm gonna join the Navy soon and I will probably end up back home in San Diego (I'm from Oceanside). I would like to continue boxing over there If I get the time so do you guys know what the best boxing gym in San Diego is?

MMA is so much more popular than pure boxing, that most pure boxing camps and a lot of the best boxing coaches are being paid more at MMA camps.

1) Throwdown - Throwdown San Diego: Boxing, MMA, Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, Kickboxing

A lot of the highly regarded trainers in San Diego, like Rudy from Alliance (Their former boxing coach), Tony Palafox were offered much more money to train at Throwdown. Even if you're going pure boxing, you might want to train there. A lot of people left Alliance to train there. Everyone tells me to go there but I don't want to spend more than $100 a month so I'm considering Undisputed.

2) City Boxing - City Boxing San Diego - Muay Thai Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, MMA Always highly recommended to me. One of my former colleagues trains there and they try to book him fights too. I think they're a little expensive if you want MMA training, but reasonable if you want pure boxing. (Something like $100) If you're really good, you can stop by and see if you can try out and maybe get discounted for offering to spar with their fighters who have fights coming up.

^Thanks a lot for the links man. I have heard about city boxing before and from the link they look to be more boxing oriented than the first link. Ill have to give it a try.

Encinitas Boxing is good (That's where I go),

Rhino Boxing in Vista is also good.

Black Tiger on Miramar is great. That's where Chris Getz teaches.

^Hey man tell me more about rhino boxing. If its the place I think it is it's in San Marcos or almost there. I think I have passed it driving from Oceanside to the Fry's in San Marcos is that the right place? Is it any good?

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I have recently moved to Encinitas and saw "Encinitas Boxing". I havent had the time to check it out for myself but was looking for a straight up, cheap boxing gym. Although I love Muay Thai and enjoy grappling these MMA gyms prices are too steep for me, and usually too crowded with beginners. Any direction for me would be much appreaciated.
