Wahoo was the best example of a good heel carrying that gimmick and I know Tatanka was under The Million Dollar Man's control for a bit. How many other wrestlers with a Native American gimmick worked heel at all? Was Wahoo really the only good one?

Not really a lot of heel Native options. The two most recent ones ain't great.

Karl Fredericks left New Japan a couple years ago and WWE signed him and gave him a stereotypical Native gimmick and named him Eddy Thorpe after Jim Thorpe. He was boring as fuck and they had him do dumb ass vignettes like "talking to the spirits". When he turned heel it sucked ass and he was fired within a couple months of starting his heel run.

"The Native Beast" Nyla Rose in AEW, she's basically been a heel her entire run, but she kind of sucks outside of being funny sometimes. Probably the best thing about Nyla Rose is they don't have her doing a stereotype gimmick and the only reason you would know she's native is her nickname The Native Beast.

Wahoo was before my time.

One of my favourite matches as a young kid was Tatanka V Shawn Michaels at Wreatlemania 9. I was a fan.

So Tatanka, though I didn't see much of his bad guy run...

His turn was pretty good, but I don't think they did much with him as a heel other than just being a part of the Million Dollar Corporation. I could be wrong(it's been a while), but I can't remember him being part of any significant feuds after he turned. Just another goon for the group. I don't think his career ever truly recovered after being sacrificed to friggin' Ludwig Borga.

Yeah, I vaguely remember him having a solid undefeated streak.

I can't think of anything special that he did whilst in the corporation either.

I miss the Hulk up...

Thanks for the input, fellas. I really like and respect Wahoo but I'm not a fan of the Native American gimmick because of all the no-selling and comebacks that make no sense. Chief Jay Strongbow might have been an Italian but I hated that Indian with a God Damn passion. Wahoo, I knew, was a legit tough guy who earned his reputation and his stuff definitely looked more real. When Wahoo showed up I knew the other guy was in trouble and probably a bit scared too.

Jack and Gerry Brisco might've done the most heel thing some Natives have ever done in wrestling when they sold Georgia Championship Wrestling to Vince

They only did that because the white man(Ole Anderson) was treating them like second class citizens and refusing to show them the books or give them the money that was rightfully theirs

The best gimmicks are always based on real life...

How could I forget that? I was just watching it fairly recently. Thanks for reminding me.

Just found this...
