friend of mine is trying to buy some mma style shin guards i know the mma style shins usually dont have as good of padding as normal kick boxing shins lots of companies are gone now who use to make them so curious whats a good brand today to use?

Venum 360 MMA shin guards. I'm not a fan of venum but these are definitely solid. A few highlights :
1. Good protection, they have an extra layer of foam over the shin. A lot of the Muay Thai guys use them as their main guards for training.
2. Easy to take on and off compared to most MMA shin guards
3. Super light, like 6-7 ounces iirc on our scale. This is where synthetic leather shines IMO, because it allows for good footwork since you aren't weighed down.
4. Affordable, they are like $90 and def worth it.
The foot protection leaves much more to be desired tho, it is standard light padding that most MMA shin guards use.

for muay thai u cant go wrong with fairtex but they have special mma shinguards im guessing they are easier to grapple without slipping around. Just a guess i only used fairtex.
