pretty sick how he does the spinning back kick fast going forward. I usually just see it from the stance or going backwards. Some nice kicking combinations too.

not always, in fact in TKD i loved throwing a forward back kick in sparring, you can put so much power into it. Its just that TKD doesn't have much defensive tactics other than counter kicking, so your best bet for defence is usually a back kick, and if you're lucky and the guy walks into it you can get points like that.Seem like karate guys like to do the spinning back kick going forward, while tkd guys mostly do it moving back, or from standing still.
Haha i learned myself the forward going spinning back kick from watching the end fight in blade 2..![]()
Forward, backwards, jumping, or sideways, I had to get good at all of them when I was ranking in TKD. Forward always seemed so much easier than backwards, and hard to stop.Seem like karate guys like to do the spinning back kick going forward, while tkd guys mostly do it moving back, or from standing still.

wow sideways? I'd love to see that in action. I can only do it going backwards or in stance.Forward, backwards, jumping, or sideways, I had to get good at all of them when I was ranking in TKD. Forward always seemed so much easier than backwards, and hard to stop.
Well you basically answered yourself.NOT TRYING TO SPARK A KEYBOARD WAR HERE: Is there really a "Best Martial art for Kicking? All of them just have their own pros and cons for MMA usage. TKD although both powerful and acrobatic, usually teaches students to kick with the instep, which can lead to serious injuries. In Karate (both traditional like Kyokushinkai and American like Kempo) kicks are more committed, slower and can be countered with speed. Muay Thai doesn't always endorse the best technique (ESPECIALLY WHEN NOT TAUGHT PROPERLY) and kicks can easily be telegraphed. Every style has its strengths and weaknesses. I don't necessarily think one is better than the other. Although as a Taekwondo player I do have some predispositions on what styles I like to see or not.

while moving sideways or standing sideways? I'm talking about moving sideways. If you go through some footage of wonderboy sometimes he lands his spinning hook kicks sideways. Also some of the new-style TKD guys do this, although it doesn't endorse the best techniques for sparring.

I've dropped someone with a spinning back kick to the solar plexusThose kicks have no power in them the way they're performed, and not I'm not talking about them holding back but the technique itself. I used to do similar kick when doing Shotokan and learnt the hard way that while those kicks can be fast and accurate, they generally won't knock someone out.

I'm not so sure Tay - those kicks are definitely not as powerful as Kyokushin kicks but all the one's aimed at the face would probably knockout or stun most people. Their kicks might not have as much power but they are a lot quicker - I'd also say you don't need to have a ton of power on head kicks to take someone - a good example of that is Wonderboy - his kicks are true to traditional Karate technique - like you find in shotokan & wado.
its the names of a the video. its supposed to mean the best kicks of wado ryu. I assumestill a bit of a misleading title for the thread "best karate kicks Wado Ryu".
