Best chins in each division

I am not counting guys like Volk or Adesanya, who have very good boxing defenses, but guys who took a lot of damage and survived, even if they lost some fights by TKO, and seem to have good recovery

FLW - Fig

BW - Chito

FW - Max, his chin seems amazing

LW - Gaethje, although Gamrot might be a contender

WW - it's between Chimaev and Colby. Chimaev took a lot of damage in the Burns fights, but that's it. Colby got finished by Usman after taking a lot of damage. He also ate many punches in their second fight and survived, unlike Masvidal or Burns. Edwards has a good boxing defense, I don't count him.

MW - Gastelum - weird that a guy his size fought much bigger guys and never been KOd. Second place - Vettori

LHW - Jiri - I know he lost twice by KO/TKO, but he can take a lot of damage. Ankalaev has too much of a boxing defense to be counted. Glover also has a good chin.

HW - probably still Stipe. Yes, aware of the fact he got KTFO, but he took damage in both Ngannou fights before the KO. I don't see anybody else, maybe Tuivasa. Ngannou hasn't taken damage during exchanges to count him.

LHW - Jury's out but I think it might be Nicolae Negumereanu just based on the way he walks forward blocking punches with his face.

MW - Vettori, eating the head kick from Costa that dropped Yoel Romero like it was a small jab convinced me.

WW - Probably Luque

LW - Based on the amount of punishment he took off a big WW and still hung in there I'm going with Benoit Saint Denis

Chin quality is a real thing. Blindado took several power shots from Poha before getting rocked at the end of the fight. Strickland got KTFO the first time Alex found his chin. I think Bruno's chin has taken more damage than Sean's over the course of their careers.
It is even more obvious in boxing. Chuvalo took beating left and right by some of the best HW of all time and he never got knocked down (albeit some claim that Ali dropped him once). Chins are a thing.

I think some guys got a exceptional chin and the rest are just normal guys. I just think you couldn't say this or that guy had the best chin in the whole div. It's kind of like the goat discussion. It can't really be measured.

Agree. There is obviously a sort of gradation. The MW division gives us a good example. Vettori, Gastelum and Blindado have chins well above average, while Brendan Allen, Phil Hawes and Jordan Wright chins are clearly below average. Which one is the best or the worse of all is as difficult to adress as the GOAT thing.
