Best boxing based fighter

well probably those who went to pro boxing, no?

Like Ben Askren and Tyrone Woodley

Cro Cop 48-8 amateur boxer, Croatian national champion, Bronze medalist at the Mediterranean games, plus other accolades. Crisp hands, quick, solid combos.

Ryan Ford transitioned to boxing late in life from MMA, at 33 due to travel issues in MMA that he somehow got around for boxing due to his criminal past. Ford did well, beat Boonjumnong in an upset who was an undefeated pro and also Olympic Gold Medalist. Beat Robert Berridge who was like 23-7 and had fought some champions. He lost to some top guys like Chudinov and Buatsi but was more competitive than expected vs some top dudes for an MMA dude in boxing pushing 40.

Mousasi had great hands and a solid background as a Dutch national champion.

Guys like Yan, JDS, Dillashaw of course come to mind as well. Im sure theres some interesting guys with accomplishments we are unaware of. Aaron Pico for example has some great amateur achievements and Henry Cejudo out in a year or two preparing to be a pro boxer before MMA.

Yan is currently the best, yes.
Prime Conor was pretty good, technically, so was prime Nick Diaz.

And people love to shit on Strickland but his system is boxing based and he is pretty successful.

A guy nobody has on their radar but who has decent boxing is Marc-Andre Barriault.

Nick became boxing centric later but his base was def BJJ specially for his first UFC run

Her recent loss really silenced the noobs who talk about boxers being able to beat MMA fighters in MMA fights or street fights. Don't know why it is so hard to get the concept that this is a different sport that takes different skills. That fight was a good illustration of what happens to anyone who enters without the grappling skills, no matter what else they have.

Dude there are prehistoric fights of his in STrikeforce where he is like 13 year old and already has very good hands and head movement

Street fights??? Pretty sure she lost a mma fight, and not a street fight. Anyway, this is not the place for the lame boxing vs mma debate
