I'm 5 ft 6 170lbs muscular build, I have grappled for some time without a gi. Now I'm going to start training at a school where they use gi's and I will start participating in some tournaments so I'm looking to buy a BJJ gi but the fit seems to be a problem, many gi's are too tight up top or the pants are too long.

I'm looking at a few different gi's the Vulkan light pro size A1, Gameness pearl A2, Venum competitor A1.5, Do or Die hyperfly pro competition A1

Since there are no fight shops in the area I can't try on any of the gi's to insure a good fit, I will be buying online and don't want to end up returning yet another gi. So if there is someone here with my height or weight that can tell me what gi they use. Thanks!!!

I am a stocky 5'8", 215lbs I wear an A3

Atama fits perfectly
Shoyoroll is long in the sleeves

You won't want to go any bigger than A2.

Before class ask a couple people if you can try on their Gi jacket to figure out what size/brand you like. I'd do it before it gets soaked in sweat and funk.

Im 5'8 185 and A2 fits perfect. Have Tatmi, Atama and Moya Brand

In my case :
Tatami shrunk in the chest
Atama shrinks in the arms but chest stays fine.
Moya's come big, had to dry in dryer to fit. (fav Gi)

Some guys at my gym that are around your size (5'6 170-190) wear Fujis A2 and seem to fit just right..
Hope that helps.

The A3 pants must be too long for you?

In my case most of my size is around the triceps, shoulders and chest. I'm now considering a FUJI Gi, even though on bjjhq.com they have the gameness pearl for $99 today. Thanks

Atama fits perfectly. Shoyoroll runs long, so the sleeves are a bit long. The pants are fine. I don't mind pants that are a bit long, but long sleeves are a huge disadvantage in regards to grips.

Lot's of stocky guys here in Guam. I usually sell them the 93brand size A2H.

Wow this is a great return policy. The fuji sekai gi looks good, do you know if its a lightweight material? the gi weight is not listed

The Fuji Sekai is light weight and a great gi. I just bought one few weeks back and I have rolled 8 or 9 times and I really like it. I also have a Fuji victory all around gi and a Atama gold weave ( the Atama is HOT)
I am 5'10 weigh 215 athletic build I wear A4. I have tried the A3 but it was to tight under my arms.
I shrink all my A4's down with warm washes and Med. Heat dryer.

I'm a stocky 5'7" / about 185 lbs (I'm a bit chubby but I have broad shoulders & chest), so I'm probably fairly close to your size. I'll put in another vote for Fuji A2. I have two of the Victory gis and the fit is really perfect for my size... I got the 1st one on amazon for like $90 and the 2nd one on BJJHQ for like $80 a week or two ago. It's cheap, durable, and it fits great. The pants are great and comfortable (the waist is big but the strings tighten up nicely). Only downside is that the jacket is on the thick/heavy side, it can definitely get hot in there, but for the price I can live with that. I line dry them because the fit is absolutely perfect as is. They actually dry surprisingly quickly, even just hanging them up- my Hiro takes quite a bit longer to dry after a wash or a hard session.

I have a Hiro in an A2 as well and the jacket is a little bit snug.

Does anyone have the Fuji Sekai in a size A2 or A3 that would be able to take some measurements on it?
I am specifically looking for a measurement on the cuff opening, the wingspan, and length from the top to the bottom. Thanks in advance!

Which Gi would you recommend? I'm 5'5-5'6, 234 lbs, stocky & a belly. Wingspan is about 54.5 inches. Pants inseam is 28.

Can I plug my site http://www.RollMore.com for the return policy?

Also, a fuji A2 may be a good option for you.

That is pretty badass that you can try it and wash it and send it back if its not a good fit.

I have to ask though, what do you do with the returned Gis? and how often do people return them?

Also, would it be ok with you for somebody to order...say 4 gis, pay for them, decide which one fits best and return the others (un-washed/un-used)???
