iirc only original rules were:

No “fish hooking”
No eye gouging



I liked it when head butts were legal. It wasn’t pretty but it was very real.
Head butts, knees, stomps and soccer kicks to the ground are major game changers that are much more accurate representations of a real fight.
North/South is a death sentence with knees allowed and nearly useless under unified rules. Missing a TD on a bad shot from too far out tended to have dire repercussions in PrideFC, but has much much less risk in UFC.
Call me old fashioned, but if you can’t stop a man from stepping on your head, you don’t deserve to win the fight.
