You get to possess another living person's body for a year.
When the year is up, you will be returned to the same point in time as where you started (ie your family and friends don't even notice you going, you pick up mid-sentence, only you know that you'd been away for a year).
You cannot profit by anything you learn directly - eg if you find out that a horse wins a race and bet the house on it, the bookie won't pay out, the horse won't win the race, a meteorite will hit the track. Something. If you happen to find the meaning of life though, well, that's yours to keep.
