i am a lefty, and i have a hard time having my left hand as a jab. does any one have a version for lefties or any tips?

Doesn't he use a number system? I swear he says 1 for a jab and 2 for the rear hand, 3 for hook, etc. It shouldn't matter which side you are using to face front then

What the actual fuck??

I hate myself for posting this. I am face palming to infinity.

When bas says left, you hear right and vice versa.

How do you even walk??

He uses numbers mostly, but he also says specific shots too, like "Right straight" and "Right uppercut".

Also, the combinations flow better because they assume a right handed stance. I imagine "Right Straight, Liver Shot, Right straight" doesn't work so well as a lefty as you would have to either throw all from the left or throw a right hook to the body (not a liver shot).

Unfortunately the only options are

- learn to reverse them in your head and have alternatives rehersed for combintations that don't flow

- learn to fight like a normal fighter, you goddam southpaw freak

I use 1st option. My head has the right straights and left hooks pretty good. You're right, for us it doesn't work as well when he says something like "right straight, liver shot, right straight," but it gives my body some unexpected mechanics to work with. When he says something like "leeeever shot, right straight," I'll feint a jab, then throw the left straight to the body, then throw the left straight to the head.

I have used the Rutten workout for years, and the guy that turned me on to it was actually a lefty. Just stand southpaw and throw the numbered combos Regularly. 1- jab; 2- jab, cross; 3- jab, cross, hook; 4- jab, cross, hook, cross. When he calls "liver shot, throw a lead (in your case right)hook to the body. Right upper cut and right straight can simply be thrown as a left uppercut and left straight, as he really means rear hand for both punches, and all left hooks can be thrown as lead hand (again, rights for lefties) hooks for the same reason.
