Barao Vs MacDonald to headline UFC London

Really, sick main event. London is lucky to get that one, those two guys are gonna be going hard.

As other said, sick main event. Surprised they're putting it on Fuel though.

Not the best way to get exposure for your champs.

Well, he is an interim champion in an unpopular division and they have to give something to make Fuel and UK events seem important. Rich vs. Cung Le was actually a lot bigger fight to give away in terms of takeaway from other big events.

Recent FX cards with headliners like Bigfoot/Browne, Bisping/Vitor. and Paul Harris/Lombard are all a lot bigger fights for casual fans. So it's a hard fit for FX too.

Seems odd to put Barao on a Fuel Card that 100k will see. But its a good main event for London.

I hope they air it live in the afternoon. I love day fights.

I don't disagree, just saying if you want the general public to know your champ, Fuel isn't the best place to put him.

Doesn't bother me personally cause I'll be watching the event regardless, just pointing out that it isn't going to help their stock.

Finally a title fight in London (albeit second worst after Mighty Mouse) but still. Needs a good co-main event.

Btw, I am going and it will be my first live UFC/MMA Event. Gamble central awaits.

Cruz defended against Mighty Mouse on Versus and Barao's previous fight with Faber for the interim title was terrible, the bantamweight division and flyweight divisions are the least popular and they didn't want to risk another low PPV buyrate due to those factors.

I like this fight and I hope it's much better than Barao vs. Faber.

They deserve a decent card after the shit theyve been dealt in the past.

Not bad, not bad at all.

Barao sub round 3.

Never said they belonged on PPV, just surprised they're putting them on Fuel.

Yeah now that I think of it, it would have been better or it would have at least given them more exposure if they put them on Fox, putting them on Fuel is just flat out cold.

If anything, just let them be the co main event on a Pay Per View card.

ya the UFC didnt put Hendo/Rampage and a BJ title fight on free tv there or anything.

the UK is lucky to get this fight, title fights SHOULD NOT be on Fuel TV.

Yeah I mean I think FX would've been fitting and would've gotten them some exposure at the very least.

When you put them on fuel you basically guarantee that only people that actively follow the sport will watch the fight.

That rampage fight was 5 years ago.

This fight is much less interesting to the casual fans than anything on Fox this weekend. Most recent FX headliners (Paul Harris/Lombard, Vitor/Bisping, and Bigfoot/Browne) are all bigger fights for casual fans too.

I agree about the PPV thing, the only better place is as a co-main event to another title fight on PPV. That is really hard to time though. They won't put a title fight in the co-main event for a non-title PPV main event.

Very surprised they're putting it on Fuel but I guess they felt obligated to give the UK something special.

Yeah I agree, but just sit them out until Jones vs. Sonnen then. That's one of the biggest upcoming title fights that will draw a big Pay Per View buyrate and that will get them more exposure with the non hardcore MMA fans.

The reason that these guys are headlining UFC on FUEL London : no other headliner was available. As simple as this.
