I still wonder, what was Sefo thinking? Granted that I don't think he would've won this fight, but what he did caused him to take the most brutal beating of his career. For a smart man like him to completely underestimate a young killer like Hari who was on the rise was crazy. He was taunting and putting his hands down, not following up when he managed to hurt Hari etc. I know he did the showboating a lot, but Sefo looks genuinely confused that it wasn't working and that hari would not relent and was just smashing him.

Despite that he almost knocked Hari down on two occasions and was stopped on his feet, what his chin could still withstand was scary. Prime Sefo vs prime Hari is my favorite dream matchup.

Sefo was way past it by then, he suffered some brutal Ko's at the end of his career, both Ray and Peter Aerts both just got brutalized by Hari, he pretty much ended their careers.

It was a different era, Sefo was still living the 'I am a legend in Japan' routine, Badr was young, mean, and an absolutely frightening fighting specimen.

I remember before even the fight started being worried for Sefo, I knew Badr Hari was going to murder him,...it was a sad beating to watch.

I don't think Sefo was flustered nor do I think he underestimated Hari. He's always spoken with great reverence and respect for hari and probably knew how this bout would end before he stepped into the ring. Hari also takes Sefo even in his prime tbh.

He may have respected Hari in a way that he thought that would prevent Hari from going Hari on him. The playful staredown and the goofy faces he made while Badr was advancing with his attack indicate this.

I also watched his fights against Schilt lately and Ray knew a lot better than to take him lightly. If he knew what Hari was going to present, the last thing he should've done was taunt constantly even after getting hurt against such a young killer.

Mostly agree but Peter Aerts rebounded quite well after that loss.

but showboating is incredibly characteristic of Sefo and is exhibited in almost all his fights. I suspect the cheerful demeanor and playful attitude was due to their somewhat friendly relationship (assumption).

I disagree, that is Sefo being Sefo, the showboating from Ray doesn't really start coming out until he knows he's losing the fight.

In this case, Hari made Ray smile and showboat pretty much from the start of round 1 lol; that's when you know Sefo's in trouble.

Ok I've watched Hari fight so many times, and every time I wonder why his back is darker on his left, but never asked the question because it's kinda stupid.

So what's up with that? ^^

At that time sefo already lost his explosivness, and iron chin. Ive heard that he had his knees injured (in 2002 when he fought hoost) but its probably a rumor. Just comparin sefos fight against bonjasky and then haris foght against bonjasky its night and day.

by the way how i can link a yt file

It was one of the saddest fights to watch in K-1. I feel like this every time I watch it:

Sefo started to decline rapidly in 2007. In 2008 Badr became a legit threat.
