I work in a casino with a lot of Asian dealers and gamblers and this is the hot topic of the minute. They have had enough of the coddling of criminals for a couple of years now and this takes the cake

This man was beloved by his community and the murderer only gets "Involuntary Manslaughter"

As if the Asian and black relationship couldnt get any worse

TBH, I think it is the right sentence.

The main difference between murder and manslaughter is intent (malice aforethought); murder involves a deliberate intent to kill or cause serious harm, often with premeditation, while manslaughter is the unlawful killing of a person without that malice, typically from recklessness, negligence, or in a moment of passion/provocation.

People just want the sentence to be murder due to the races of the perpetrator and the victim.

How is blindside tackling an 84 year old man onto concrete not a deliberate intent to cause serious harm?

Lmao at not guilty of elder abuse. Dude looked like Vontaze Burfict hitting a frail 80 year old man.

Asians should be pissed they typically keep to themselves, work hard, value education, and nobody gives a shit when they’re victims of crime. Meanwhile America kisses as much black ass possible like my main mans @fica said.

Intent to KILL - that's murder.

He wasn't looking to kill the old man. He was just impulsively lashing out like a retard.

I still think he's a scumbag and deserves the maximum sentence for involuntary manslaughter.

The level of force when it comes to murder or attempted murder is relative to the person's physical status, age and gender included. The level of force used in this attack was deadly force, considering the fact that the man was 84 years old. If you punch a 6 year old in the face and he or she dies, it would be considered murder. I don't see the difference here.

He used deadly force. You don't just get to use deadly force and then say my bad, didn't mean to kill you.

I hate the situation but I agree, you give him whatever sentance and pray he gets beat the fuck up badly in prison regularly

did he know the man was 84 years old?

I dont know the full story I assumed he just jumped some random guy. Did he know him prior, could he tell if he was 84 or 48?

You just said intent to cause serious harm too.

Racists are going to racist.

I really don't think this will make Asians more racists against black people than they already are, their already at max level.

That aside, anybody that hurts an elderly person or a child should get triple the sentence.

Asians are pretty racist but they’re also pretty harmless. They’ll just talk shit about someone in their language and look at a black or Mexican dude funny in their shop or restaurant. American racists can be violent mofos.

Just looked it up - Antoine Watson, recently found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the 2021 death of Vicha Ratanapakdee, faces a likely sentence of time served, meaning he should be released soon, as involuntary manslaughter carries a maximum of four years.

Ok 4 years is complete bullshit. Time served?

I think he should have gotten voluntary manslaughter (max sentence 10-15 years) as opposed to involuntary.

You just said intent to cause serious harm too.

You know what. I just looked it up and you're correct. It's intent to kill or great bodily harm. Still don't think it warrants a murder charge though.

Unless he was legally blind, I don't know how you couldn't tell if someone is well over 70.

Body checking people in their mid 80s is objectively deadly force. Allowing unstable retards to openly murder the elderly and then giving them a pass is a very bad idea.

I imagine there are many families that if this were their Grandpa, Uncle, etc... the guy who killed him would be disappeared.

The scumbag belongs in prison much longer. I don't give a shit about race.

Agreed. But I don't think murder is the correct charge.

Should have gotten voluntary manslaughter - much longer sentence.

I disagree with but I can see manslaughter, but I don't see how it could be involuntary instead of voluntary.

Edit
Sorry, just saw your post about voluntary.

At the very least, this kid knew there was a possibility that body checking an 84 year old man like this could result in fatal injuries. You're not going to convince me he didn't. But that's probably a roll of the dice hoping a jury of 12 would all be in agreement on that. I agree with you, Voluntary Manslaughter should have been the charge. How in the world was this crime involuntary?
