I will immediately assume you have no knowledge of grappling and that you aren't even a real fan of mixed martial arts.

You're either just a casual observer of the sport. Or perhaps you just hate Khabib for smashing your favorite fighter.

The only cases when I can agree that grappling is boring, is when it is used to stall time.

Anyone who understands grappling will not call Khabib boring. Unless they're a fighter of course trying to trash talk him, in that case they are just pretending and secretly analysing what he does.

Agreed but there's a reason why KO's are on the highlight reels.

He’s maybe the most entertaining wrestler ever. His passing and control are really amazing to watch if you have any real knowledge of grappling. Add in that he has some of the best ground and pound and threatens with submissions, I don’t see what’s boring about it.

i guess tony has no knowledge of grappling, nor is he a fan of mma-

“So when I see someone pushing against the cage and not really doing too much, being active and just kind of putting themselves like a wet blanket. In jiu-jitsu, we use that saying. He’s a wet blanket, just sitting there. It’s a lot of pressure. When I fought Danny Castillo he did the same thing. It’s interesting how Khabib fights but to me it’s just boring, it’s lazy.”

Nothing boring about him. He doesn't LnP like Usman, he Ground and Pounds, goes for the sub.

Salty casuals.

Read my last paragraph please. Then reply to me again with an apology.

He probably has the most entertaining grappling style we've ever seen. He's doing stuff we've never even seen before

Sorry, I find his style boring. I much prefer watching a dynamic grappler with high level submissions who takes chances and keeps things moving.

People would rather see someone died like Masvidal vs Askren... Human Nature. But if you think Khabib smashing is boring then you have no knowledge of the fight game... Destroy your opponent with taken next to no damage... #Hespect

I mean he's naturally a very methodical and controlled fighter so I wouldn't call him one of the most entertaining ever but he's clearly very far from boring.

Another elitist prick. I think its the first today.

It’s boring because it’s safe. A guy scoring a huge KO will have to put himself in danger to achieve such a thing, but Khabib relentlessly controlling his opponent, while entertaining because of the spectacle, it’s just clear as day that he’s head and shoulders above in the grappling and is in no danger at all.

Personally I think he’s one of the most entertaining fighters both inside and outside the cage

Of course anyone would prefer to see Khabib land flying inverted triangles.

But that's not Khabib. And if you think that what he does now is boring, you're either a master who has seen it all, or you don't have a love for grappling. Which is fine.

Agreed. there is nothing boring about shit like this:

Tony has a negative bias towards him in general. Which makes sense seeing as he has legit beef with Khabib.

Agreed. This is actually the pinnacle of martial arts, at its finest: completely control/dominate/submit your opponent, while staying out of harm's way yourself.

If you really listen to Tony's interview, he actually admits he's going to have difficulty with Khabib: after saying Khabib's style was boring, he said, "I think I bring things to the table Khabib's not seen before." The truth is nobody has ever seen anyone like Khabib before. It's not just wrestling, it's Combat Sambo + Judo + Combat Wrestling. It is not jujitsu, it is not wrestling, what Khabib brings is his own combat style.

You can't train to beat Khabib, because no one you bring as a sparring partner is even remotely close to his level or his style.

It has only been recently that hes actually been entertaining. Round 1 of Porier was basically just hold and control and break his will. I dont like Khabibs style of grappling personally. I would prefer more transitions and different sub attempts but thats how you lose position. I would have said a few fights ago hes like john fitch but recently he has been going for more sub attempts. Im not sure theres anyone in the division to be able to figure him out right now. Im not sure why dustin didnt pressure forward more now.

I'm trying to figure out how this doesn't describe Khabib.

This thread is a cry for attention, I can't in good faith believe there's a significant group of people who share the view that he's boring. I'm really struggling to see how that's possible.
