Opinion Are transgender people inherently mentally ill?

Since this talk about transgender people, because of the recent tragic shooting. Which the shooter was transgender.

I thought I'd make a thread / poll about this and see what people on here believe.

According to these sources they are not mentally ill.

Yes, but there are multiple types of mental illness at play- each pretty distinct.

First, we’ve got legit confused/delusional people who feel like they’re in the “wrong body.” That’s a thought disorder where their thinking doesn’t match reality. Being depressed in the midst of this delusion is another thing- gender dysphoria.

Then we have lost and impressionable people who get caught up in trends social contagion-like… interestingly, a lot of autistic folks fall into this category.

Finally, we have people with unstable self-image and attention seekers. These are personality disorder types (mainly borderline personality disorder).

That said, none of these folks are inherently violent or prone to mass shootings, although borderline folks tend to be very reactive and lash out impulsively/reactively.

... who think their 'gender' does not align with their sex, but when asked what 'gender' is, they can't give you a coherent answer. A large % are just sexual deviants. They're not mentally healthy, which ever way you cut it.

In the end, 'transgenderism' only exists in the sense that some people claim to be it. It doesn't actually exist.

I’d trust the average transsexual / transgender over the smartest trump nut any day ,simply bc one would likely have a decent reasoning skills and be educated and the Trump nut would likely have poor reasoning skills with very low IQ and a hot temper with out knowing actually why and or embrace conflicts on topics they have absolutely no clue about .

The usual posters I’ve seen on here I’d say are definitely mentally ill but mostly just dumb , if you put up a poll Transgenders vs Trumpers I’d say transgender would definitely have more stability vs a group suffering from inability to distinguish reality from fantasy and drawn into a cult like world which is a mental illness and a dangerous one .

If you have an extreme form of self-mutilation, with strongly deleterious effects (sterility), it would seem reasonable to say it's a kind of mental illness that makes someone want to do that (unsurprisingly ppl who do this do indeed tend to be obviously mentally ill in many other ways).

Because it got caught up in the insanity of modern America & its nutters in academia and their gender/idpol political crusade, it just happens that this particular species of mental illness has become a kind of 'protected' (even promoted) category for the time being.

I think we are dealing with 2 different groups of people here. Real trannies who are indeed mentally ill and totally deserve help and compassion (but not mutilated turned into a freak show or humored) ..and people who it's some kind of kink/fetish for in which case they may or may not be "mentally ill" but are totally degenerate and I don't want to be forced to humor them in any way shape or form.

I think gender affirming care is horse shit and should be illegal and there should be no such thing as a trans kid. Im legit sick of these people and it irritates me to see them catered to. No other group of disabled people is treated this way.
