I've been mixing these two items for a quick meal at work. Is this good or bad? I'm kinda old school so I assume it's good, but it seems that every time I make that assumption someone tells me about high sodium, cholesterol, etc.

Between the 90 second rice and the regular you buy in the box... I believe; 30 more calories, 5 more carbs, and some more sodium. Nothing crazy, I like the 90 seconds and out. I buy a couple 90 second ones then a couple boxes, just depends on what im making/how much time I have.

I've used the "Success Brown Rice" 10 minute bags. You can either microwave it or boil it, its whole grain and only takes 10 minutes, good stuff.

Don't think there's anything wrong with the 90 second ones.

IMO, the more something is processed generally the less healthy it is for you. I would stay away from the 90 second rice, because it sounds like it's been processed out the whazoo.

How many calories and how much fibre / vitamins / minerals does that rice have compared to standard, cook for 1 hour whole wheat rice? If they're comparable, then I'd say eat away.

I keep a few boxes of the 10 minute bags around as well. I'll cook up some short grain brown rice if I have the 50 minutes to kill while it cooks, but sometimes I want my rice NOW.
