I know a lot of the family are quite spiritual...but anyone can be spiritual in the absence of religion...I've never heard them specifically speak about god or religious beliefs...does anyone know if they are or not? I would be very disappointed if they were

They have to market their product, and either supporting or opposing religion would alienate a large market.

Why would you "be disappointed" if some person with the last name of Gracie holds a certain personal religious belief? Intolerant much? Many, perhaps even most, prominent and successful people are religious. You don't have to be but don't push your beliefs on others. Deal with it

would you be disappointed if your hero believed in the easter bunny?

also I don't think you understand how free speech works, you have the right to believe something and I have the right to tell you its dumb.

anyway this thread is quickly gonna go into a religious debate but I was just wondering if the gracies are religious considering they are very spiritual and from Brazil where 90% of people are christian

You never hear any of them mention God whereas most religious Brazilians I've met mention God a lot. Anecdotal of course, but I don't get the impression they're particularly religious. Carlos did have that whole Peruvian spirit thing...

yeah well the 90% number is statistical data so it makes sense that the Brazilians you know are religious...plus anecdotally you see it all the time in sports, Brazilians thanking god for there skills, getting the ko or scoring a touchdown and not for the famine in the world

If they are religious, I commend them for not pushing it.

I'm sure lots of them worship the almighty Dollar.

Unless you don't know what a christian is, don't just throw random numbers into the discussion...
Gracie's religion depends on each Gracie...It's not a family thing. Rickson is a very spiritual person, but I don't think he believes in Jesus and stuff
Renzo doesn't look like a christian too

Just so you know, Catholics represent almost 60% of our country. The numbers are - luckily- dropping
(I'm brazilian, I'm an atheist)
