Are Cormier and Bader showing that 205 isn't needed?

Bader will likely become the Bellator LHW & HW champions soon. Does this (along with Cormier's run) show that LHW isn't really needed anymore? Both divisions are sparse as it is. Just combine them. Instantly stacked competitive division. No weight cutting issues either. Smaller guys just go to 185.

They're showing the 205lbs have always been better than the HW's. Shogun would have dropped Fedor in '05, prove me wrong.

No. There needs to be a division between MW and HW. There are some good 205'ers that can't make 185 and would get killed at HW.

235lbs is very much needed. Too many HW fighters are fat and out of shape and could use a better division to fight in. There are exceptions like Brock who is still a big guy even after cutting weight, but HW overall is a bit of a mess with how bad some of the fighters are.

Most LHW's are just heavyweights who are disciplined and eat properly

Idk but 265 is a weird arbitrary limit and prevents the sport from truly growing into the spectacle we deserve.

It's so dumb that the most prestigious title in the world -- HW champ -- comes with a rule that you basically have to be this short to ride this ride.

Well DC is a natty HW and Bader just beat Mitrione. Lets not get too carried away yet.

They're showing that HW is trash.

There's a reason why Randy, Fedor, DC, Bader, and smaller HW's have done well, and its because of speed, cardio, and better technique.

These flabby 265ers are one dimensional with no cardio

Not really. But the skill of the best LHWs probably could hang with almost the majority of HW. But you take an true average LHW and a true average HW, the HW would probably win the majority. I wouldnt mind some sort of cruiserweight or something similar. LHW, CW, HW, SHW maybe, might not need all four though.

Hopefully those assholes clamoring for a 225 weight class because the HW gap is too big will shut up. Worst idea I've ever seen MMA fans suggest.

Shogun saw what happened to Ninja and his boy Wand at HW.

He didn't want none of that shit

Jon Jones beats any HW in MMA history except maybe a prime JDS and Cain

I think he beats Fedor and Mirko
