I heard that it's not about if you break your nose or not but when

They always say, Flex, keep your chin tucked. And in my mind, Im thinking, "why dont you just put a big red button on my nose and invite them to punch it?"

Better than getting punched unconscious. And you shouldn't be getting hit in the face in the first place ;)

I'd rather get knocked out than a broken nose actually...you wouldn't?

Can we turn this thread into a thread of messed up boxing noses?

Getting your nose broken is incredibly painful. A KO isn't nearly as bad.

Getting your nose broken really isn't painful at all in my experience, got mine broken in a fight and I don't recall having any pain. There is so much adrenaline that you definitely don't feel it when it happens, at most it was a little sore for a day.

I effed up the cartlidge in the tip of my nose the last time I sparred....that was like 2 months ago and it still feels wierd, it wasn't broken though.

I would take the KO. I have never broken my nose but friends have and it looks painful.

i cannot believe people would seriously take a KO over a broken nose, what is wrong with you? "it looks really painfull?", you shouldnt fight if your such a pussy.

Boxing isnt a sport for the feint of heart. One of many reasons I respect professional boxers as much as I do, this isnt an easy sport. At all.

Yeah, a broken nose would hurt like shit, I imagine, but I'd much rather get a broken nose and keep fighting til the end than get Ko'ed. I wouldn't know much, because I have never had my nose broken nor competed, but from what I hear, adrenaline (and I suppose shock of having your nose broken) masks alot of the pain, so I reckon that you'd be hurting the most back in the locker room after a fight.

Getting your nose broken sucks.

Getting KO'd sucks a LOT more.

Are we really having this conversation? People would rather get put to sleep (with all the head injury consequences that entails) then get their nose broken?
