Major innovations under Steve Jobs:
1. Apple II (1977)
2. Macintosh (1984)
Major innovations by Apple between 1985 and 1997 after they fired Steve Jobs:
1. ???
Major innovations by Apple after they hired him back:
1. iMac G3 (1998)
2. iPod (2001)
3. iTunes store (2003) which basically solved the music piracy issue in a way that made consumers happy to pay again. This is a very underrated achievement.
4. iPhone (2007)
5. iPad (2010)
Major innovations by Apple after Steve Jobs died in 2011:
1. Some might try to claim the smart watch, apple TV, or Apple Pay, but I would argue that none of those are very innovative. If anything, apple is just copying other companies but not even making the product any better. At least with the iPod, they didn't invent mp3 players but they did make one that was way better than what was out at the time.
Anyhoo, Apple isn't special anymore. They'll survive from their legacy for a while but I think from here on out they'll slowly decline until Elon buys them for pennies.
