3. iTunes store (2003) which basically solved the music piracy issue in a way that made consumers happy to pay again. This is a very underrated achievement.

1. Some might try to claim the smart watch, apple TV, or Apple Pay, but I would argue that none of those are very innovative. If anything, apple is just copying other companies but not even making the product any better. At least with the iPod, they didn't invent mp3 players but they did make one that was way better than what was out at the time.

Anyhoo, Apple isn't special anymore. They'll survive from their legacy for a while but I think from here on out they'll slowly decline until Elon buys them for pennies.

I would never praise Jobs as an engineer. I'm praising him as a CEO.

He was always able to attract the smartest people, create a vision of what he wanted, then get them to perform to the very best of their abilities to create top notch innovative products.

People think being CEO is easy but if it's so easy then why couldn't apple's other CEO's achieve the same thing?

Jobs was an idea man. He was good at identifying ideas that could actually go somewhere. That’s a valuable skill set for the position he was in -he had vision.

The iPhone was innovative though.

What was the best phone at the time? The BlackBerry? iPhone was the first one to have a really good touch screen that made people comfortable with losing the physical keyboard, which meant that the screen could be bigger, which opened doors to using your phone for all kinds of cool new things.

Before the iPhone, we had phones with a few cool features, after the iPhone, we had laptops in our pocket that happened to also make phone calls.

As you can see in my OP, Apple was getting huge wins every 2-3 years when Jobs was in charge. He left for 12 years and they didn't do shit. Then he died and they haven't done shit since.

So you have 2 separate time periods where Apple kicked ass, and both happened under Steve Jobs

And you have 2 separate time periods where Apple sucked ass, and both happened under CEO's that weren't Steve Jobs.

That's 4 different time periods that prove Steve Jobs was great. I don't see how you can attribute that kind of success to timing.

Seems like mostly not doing shit because there wasn't really any big time thing after iPhone, but they did turn the services revenue into something significant that the big shot stock experts never talked about when shit talking the Apple stock.

I did end up buying multiple Apple devices and part is the ecosystem where music and movies can be enjoyed on multiple devices. My best things were the Apple TV box and iPad. Part was the privacy policy.

I would say that apple pay, key, passwords, copy and paste, text from images, and the fact that they work so well, integration, the cook did well.

Anyone can have a big vision, figuring out how to make it a reality is a hard thing.
