Came across his videos about a year ago, he would bust cheated speedruns. Was a rough year for him, between the Billy Mitchell lawsuit and his health guess it became to much for him.

The speedrunning community about to face unprecedented backlash from this - he left a couple names in his suicide note. There was also a video posted to his YouTube but had been removed not long after.

Man that’s awful. I follow the speedrun community fairly loosely and knew about Apollo.

Dude got sued into oblivion by that scumbag Billy Mitchell for exposing him for the fraud he was. Glad to see people are still putting the truth out there in spite of what happened to Apollo.

RIP

Just done a little research to verify some things as I wanted to know why he listed those names, and I hope the kid can rest in peace. But what a shitty thing to do, when he listed the two youtubers names that pushed him over the edge.

Apparently getting shit on for defending a white supremacist can cause one to commit suicide years after that drama has died down? Weak.

Pretty much the same here. My YT is filled with Airplane stuff, games, space, lore videos etc. You’re bound to come across his stuff if you have the YT algorithm pushing gaming videos at you.

That said, I really enjoyed his in-depth videos. They were well made and it seemed like he did a good amount of research. I could tell something was off from his last few videos. Plus a few of the random ones I watched talking about him. I don’t know about his beef with other YTers, but as you mentioned Billy Mitchell is the worst person in gaming. A bully, a cheat and a man with no morals or ethics. Sad news to hear, honestly. RIP Apollo.

I don’t know about the white supremacist pretty sure that was Rwhitegoose he defended and dude definitely isn’t lol the speedrunning community is full of angry resetera trannies that hate everything - if you aren’t as far left as can be and agree with everything they say you’re far right and literally hitler to them.

I don’t want to speculate on why he did what he did but I’m pretty sure there was some more recent drama about some kind of speedrunning video.

I don’t really know who Keemstar is either but holy shit that dude has to be one of the p4p bottom feeding pieces of shit on the internet just from what I seen last night - dude wanted to break that story soooo bad and was aggressively going after anyone he thought could break it before him.

Also...

Other than a few RE and Souls speedrunners, and Karl Jobst [dude just makes great videos on speed running for the casual], I have no idea about the speedrunning community..

BUT I know that Rwhitegoose is a dickhead.

His chat leaks show that he's a racist, antisemetic piece of shit -> just look at this.

I dont know how you wouldnt think so....

Weak shit by Apollo to do that with his suicide note [regarding the Youtubers who shitted on him years ago on this topic], and fuck the other piece of racist shit.

I did a few minutes of research on this after seeing that article and made my conclusions. I just say how I see it.

It's always odd to me when people say stuff like this. Obviously anyone that would commit suicide is severely mentally ill. Whatever pushes them over the edge is just the final straw. The underlying issues are what killed them.

I get it but thats what I feel. I might get shit for it, but its soft, weak shit.

Ok well crack open a psychology book or something. Being crazy and being weak are literally different things.

I have studied Psychology at school. I have cracked open a bunch of books, I have used the DSM-IV to write my school papers.

Still weak shit. Not everyone who commits suicide is mentally ill. Im not saying the kid wasnt, but youre making it seem like he was 'crazy', people have moments of weakness and take their lives over tiny things. Its normal and will continue to happen.

I just said something, my opinion, you can take it or leave it. I dont care.

Studied psychology but somehow don't know that yes, anyone that commits suicide is by definition mentally ill. Ok then.

Yes and no. People commit suicide for all sorts of reasons. Technically, I suppose it could be argued that they were temporarily insane, but is someone who does it in the spur of the moment, a case of someone being mentally ill in any kind of deep psychological sense? I don't think so. Some people have off'd themselves over a breakup, financial hardship, or simply not wanting to face some minor embarrassment. Did those people have any deep seeded mental illness, or did they just have the biggest lapse in judgement anyone could ever have?

Usually yes. Just off the top of my head depression, bpd, and bipolar can cause sudden mood swings like that. Typically healthy, well adjusted people don't kill themselves on a random impulse. Just because you don't know about someone's underlying issues, or just because they aren't undergoing treatment for them, doesn't mean they don't exist.

Usually yes.

"Usually" doesn't really back up what you're claiming, though. "Usually" implies that you do agree that some people just lose themselves in the moment, and their actions are not necessarily indicative of any longstanding mental illness.

I'm not disagreeing that suicide is usually brought on by some underlying depression/fear of some kind. Just saying that there are plenty of outliers that don't meet that standard.

PS: I don't know anything about this dude. Just speaking in a general sense.

Im confused. Why’s it “weak shit” for the guy to say he was going to kill himself over the actions of a few specific individuals?

I guess it would depend on if you agree with the guy or not. It's a pretty big condemnation to make. Not sure what he was talking about, but the actions of those individuals would have to be pretty severe to justify killing yourself over. Unless they had a gun to his daughter's head, or some shit, I don't see much of what some shit talking vloggers or whatever could actually do to someone to make them erase themselves.

Imagine someone here doing it, and then blaming it on some poster that put them over the edge with some comments. Would that be fair, or would you think that maybe the person was not all there, and simply looking for an excuse(or revenge) on their way out?

Not all people who suicide are 'mentally ill', to claim that everyone who suicides is mentally is ill is straight up wrong.

You got research and data to prove that? Show sources.

Suicide is a symptom, and not all people commit suicide have underlying mental health issues. I remember this from school atleast.

I literally posted why, im not gonna go over it again. I dont understand whats so confusing about my conclusions when Ive laid out why I thought it was weak shit.

If someone is on the edge, and then something else serves as the slight push over said edge, why’s it wrong for the guy to just say it? Maybe he had been contemplating it for a while, maybe not, but if these two guys make some harsh tweets or YouTube videos about the guy and he reads or watches them and says “that’s it, I’m done! See you in Hell _____!” what’s wrong with that? It is what it is, simple cause and effect.

The drama was from like 1-2 years ago, and the kid was in the wrong.....

If you read the article, the kid lost a lawsuit, he quit youtube last year [I assume thats where he made most of his money], and had a few mental health issues.

I still think it was soft and weak to put the two youtubers in the suicide video/note.

I said my opinion, and I know its controversial. The world is too soft now for truth.

I dont know how you can say otherwise, especially since they called him out on defending a racist and anti-Semitic piece of shit.

But the "cause" might be over exaggerated and without merit. Then the people who were just playing along on this thing we call "the internet" are all of a sudden "the reason" to others. Is that fair for them to carry that label, when the real reason could be far more complex? And even if it wasn't, why should they be demonized to such an extent, over some weak person deciding to off themselves over some nonsense they couldn't handle?

Despite the gravity of the final action, it seems very petty and vindictive to boil it down to some folks on the internet trolling you, or whatever, and I don't think the people who might've been prodding him a bit, should be accused of essentially being his killer. Whether or not it was caused by some deep depression, or some spur of the moment action, it's not fair to put that burden on anyone else. He killed himself. It was his decision.
