They have everything from weights to yoga classes as well as pool and lounge area. They also provide towels and mats.

Thankfully it's only 200 a month in my town since the yoga place I go to was 120 but sauna and shower are still closed as is the members lounge area despite charging same price.

Curious to know if anyone tried it?

My Gym cost 160$ per year, I pay all year around even tho I take a break during summer.... (June to August)

Used to go to one when I lived in NYC. They're great gyms if you value the extra perks you get for the money. Higher end equipment, fewer meatheads (due to higher monthly fee), excellent classes if that's your thing, and generally everything is kept clean. If you're single, there are classier women there although that goes both ways. Lots of hot young women can't afford the higher fees so they go to cheaper gyms. But richer/career-oriented/older women will be there but many won't be interested in meeting guys.

As I've gotten older, I found myself doing 99% of my workout in the squat rack so I just bought one for my basement and don't go to public gyms outside of BJJ. But if you like machines, kettlebells, lounge area, etc. Equinox is a good package if you're willing and able to pay up for it.

For me i love weights and I love yoga. If I can get them under one roof that woukd be great. Add showed and sauna and that would be great.

For the lounge are I prefer decent chairs and tables so I can do my work.

As far as people goes, I was at a rec center and there were few thugs and tins of creeps. Too much bad vibes and people taking up space on the racks.

I like to think I am paying to keep those people out. Thankfully I am not interested in older women so no distractions for me.

I used to lift at equinox for a couple years only because it’s clean and has tons of hot chicks… let’s just say Equinox was good to me. Also interestingly enough I made a couple decent business connections there which paid significantly more then the membership annual fees. All in all I prefer training elsewhere but I go back once in a while with friends who are members just to lift a bit (maybe 10x a year).

My daily gym is for Boxing, S&C, and I hit a MMA/jits gym 2x a week which I prefer by far.

Go muscle > Show Muscle

Do they have contracts and drop ins?

Both are rip offs.

How so?

I mean you are paying for a service that offers multitudes of physical training, high end lockers change rooms long hours quality sevice and a place to hang out if you are doing multiple workouts or if you have a laptop and need to work.

That and the local recceneter charges 50 bucks and its filled with low life thugs misers and the weight room is tiny, dirty and staff is always in bad mood due to low pay.

Also a lack of staff in front of the house invites thieves bevause it's more affordable and familiar with the public. Not having a budget for cameras is bad as well which means u can't bring laptop and there is no lounge area. Also no yoga or towel service.

To me it's worth paying for a service that is 4 or 5 times expensive.

I paid 550 a year for all of that before pandemnic. No idea if that particular gym is open still, i work out at home now.

Yea they have contracts as for the drop ins I’m unsure I know that I usually have had to pay 50$ for the day pass (although I usually go with a current member not sure if that’s mandatory or not although I’m sure they would let you try it at least one time). I know that certain memberships also have some free guest passes associated with it.

I know it's a great deal because some locations charge 270 and more!
$200 a month steps into the range of speciality gyms like combat sports, rock climbing, or cross-shit. Even then that's a hard sell

Regular gym def doesn't warrant that pay

Fair enough. For me it's either equinox or these dingy reccenters filled with low life thugs misers and homeless folks.

Dang! 270....Are you training at Gracie Torrance with the Gracie bro's

No it's a weight training gym with yoga Pilates and other fitness programs.

Do you know if they do upfront payments. I am down to pay every 3 months or so.

I wouldnt go to a rec either if i could avoid it. Either you get low lifes or tennis culture club with horsey t shirts and loafers.
