Just curious if any of you guys train at Attatl? Any thoughts on top team vs other Atlanta bjj/mma gyms?

I did a drop-in class there once and Jake (one of the instructors) used to be a training partner of mine at a different gym.

Jucao is a great guy and Jake is an awesome instructor as well. Definitely worth checking out.

I'd also recommend Unit2 / Traven for BJJ, but only if you are interested in competitive BJJ - the warmups alone will destroy you, then you have to roll with a bunch of killers on the mat. Even some of the white belts will murder you. Theres a LOT of rolling here, not as much technique.

jucao is a friend of mine and is excellent. i'd definitely be training there if i wanted to train MMA or BJJ in Atlanta

Alliance HQ for straight Bjj. Lucas is the man.

I train at ATT, along with many other places in the US due to my relationship with BJ, but I can tell you for sure that ATT Atlanta is one of, if not the best gym in GA. So many people from the UFC, or with high level BJJ, comes to train there when they're in town. Jucao won No Gi Worlds last year too, and is a total BEAST, and I've rolled with BJ, and all sorts of people.

I knew there was a reason why he was being hounded by so many fighters to train them when I would be at UFC events. He trains Bigfoot, Glover, Raphael Assuncao, Douglas Lima, etc, and had all sorts of people from Greg Jackson to King Mo trying to get him to help with their camps. Even in BJJ, Jucao has built some serious competitors, as there are some other blue and purple belt IBJJF medal winners in that gym. It's a tough room.
