usually i tend to stay away from sweets in general, with the occasional soda or candy every so often. but i've been noticing over the past couple of months, that everytime only after training on the mats, i tend to crave sweets like soda, ice cream and candy right after i'm done. but by morning i'm back to normal. does anyone else experience this or know why, or am i just weird?

Same here. I can drink a liter of orange juice after training.

During a longer training session (2 hours or more), I'll typically eat an apple during the break.

after an intense workout your bodies glycogen levels are probably low so its a way of letting you know to replace those. at least thats what i came up with, lol :)

I always want something citrusy after training. usually a lemon water ice

Hm.. interesting. I don't crave sweets like you are referring to, but I always have a shake with oj, banana and some various fruits (mango, blueberries, strawberries, etc.) after training.

I used to get this a lot, but then I started drinking a coconut water right after class. Seems like it has helped to tame my sweet tooth a bit.

after a REALLY hard training session i get that too its like i wanna chug juice as fast as i can i get a craving for grape or orange soda or OJ or something

thought i was the only one...

This is what I was thinking. In my post-workout shake I add this stuff called "Glycomaze" made by Optimum Nutrition. It's supposed to help replenish your muscles of it's glycogen stores after heavy workouts.

Go to your local Taqueria and grab a horchata. You'll get addicted.

I was thinking that too. But I was just wondering if it was only me. I'll definitely try some of these other ideas like the smoothies to help my sweet tooth cravings. At least that's healthier.

Me too, and in the summer I crave salt. I usually eat like 3 small pickles when I get back from BJJ.

While I don't do it often and wouldn't call it a craving. I always feel great after drinking a litre of Coca cola post-training.
