I watched the west coast feed after watching this live a few hours ago.

Marshall gets dropped DEAD from a behind the ear shot that doesn't hit clean. OK...that's not fishy, that happens, back of the head shots are real.
Then Manhoef goes for GnP and Marshall stays like he's dead but puts a hand up to defend himself for a second. OK, maybe he got knocked back into consciousness.
Then after that Marshall plays dead again.

OK if ONE of these happened, maybe it was legit. The sequence makes me think it's fishy. After Bellator went WWE with Tito, I'm not sure I believe anything that happens with them right now.

The nod before the knockout shot, the flop, and the covering up after being knocked out.

It was a little fishy.

I think he was scared, but I DO Think he was hurt. Watch how Diaz falls in the Daley fight, it is similar.

Yup Viacom paid Marshall off because Manhoef is a game changer that will totally alter the direction of the company...

Just shut the fuck up about this already. Good lord.

Its Melvin Manhoef. If you are bringing this up you have never seen him fight. Manhoef one of the most explosive guys in MMA hit someone clean behind the ears, a guy who is known to get KO'd easy at times and followed it up with a vicious follow up.

Just stop.

It's not even the first part of the sequence that's the fishy part. We've all watched for awhile, we've all seen guys get completely starched by shots that hit in weird places, especially grazing shots behind the ear, there are like 10-15 that starched guys just off the top of my head.

It's the second part that's bad. Marshall goes from completely unconscious, to covering up as subtly as possible, not getting hit, then pretending to be unconscious again.

THAT'S the fishy part. If Manhoef just walked off after the punch, it would look like just another spectacular KO.

It was Melvin freaking Manoef. A guy known for brutally knocking out even the toughest chins in MMA. Some of you young whipper snappers I swear...

He falls on his face, then gets hit by another shot and then covers up.

Do you even eyes, bruh?

i thought the same when i saw it

Yes, because guys ALWAYS get knocked out cold and remain completely motionless after a pancake flop in MMA.

Just ask Tim Sylvia....or even FEDOR.

Also, let's be real, OP....if Melvin clipped you behind the ear you'd be down for the count with some poop sneaking out.

UFC went "WWE with Tito" years before Bellator even existed. Did that make you doubt what happened inside the Octagon?

OK so after covering up why does he go limp again? After covering up he doesn't get hit with anything real after that but is "unconscious" for awhile.

Was he out from the first punch? It's possible, unlikely but possible. Was he out at the end? Possible but only if he was STILL out because nothing serious hit him after covering up. But he covered up and that wasn't "reaction" it was a conscious decision.

So why was he "unconscious" at the end?

That's all I want to know.

Pancake flops-->covers up-->gets hit-->ref stops the fight since Marshall is clearly not intelligently defending himself or trying to improve position.

If you take away your insistence that he went unconscious then conscious then unconscious again, it's not really suspicious at all.

Also, guys get knocked out w. a strike and revived when they hit the mat. It happens, and if it occurred here, wasn't the first and won't be the last.

Him laying prone after the ref intervened doesn't mean he was pretending to be unconscious again.

1. Please show me the last time someone pancaked, covered up successfully then went unconscious again. I'll wait.

2. Please name the last time UFC ran an encounter as obviously scripted as Tito's debacle last show. Bonnar started defending before Tito even made his move!

The ref told him to stay down. He wasn't out.

personally,if i was fighting melvin,i'd lay on the floor unmoving until they turned the lights off, just to make sure he wasn't gonna hit me again.

The ref told him to stay down. He wasn't out.

Where the gif cuts out he was still "unconscious" and was shown accidentally in the background. The ref was going through the procedure with an unconscious fighter, bringing in the 2 guys on the far side and not going through the "he's OK just stay here for a second" and bringing in a stool procedure.

Either he wasn't unconscious in the first place and the pancake is fishy.
Or he was "unconscious" at the end and the whole thing is fishy.

There's no middle ground here. I'm finding it really funny that more people are defending the farce here. Either the beginning part is a dive or the end is one. The whole sequence taken as a whole does not hold up to any kind of examination.

You don't have to be unconscious to be hurt. Not sure why you think that.

If Bellator wanted a fighter to take a dive and get away with it, why would they do it in California instead of at an event overseen by some small midwest tribal commission?

That's like a serial killer who doesn't want to get caught stabbing someone in Manhattan right in front of a police precinct rather than on an isolated dirt road.

The risk is not worth the reward for Viacom or Bellator if they wanted to fix a fight.

1. Please show me proof that Marshall was unconscious again after he covered up and the ref intervened.

He flops, gets stopped and then the ref hovers over him as his team and the commission suits and doc rush around him. In the very next shot he's sitting up.

Other than an excited Jimmy Smith claiming he was "flat on his stomach, out" (which is an observation and not a confirmation), I have yet to see anyone credible bring up your unconscious-->conscious-->pretending to be unconscious theory.

2. Cormier-Jones brawl looked scripted as hell to me. Dave Sholler started grabbing for the banner before he even began to fall!

He did the same damn thing vs stann. He went down like he got hit by a missile from the side but hit by a basic jab

So he has a history of taking dives!?!?!?!?
