The last 6 weeks it’s been absolute dogshit engagement bait, I feel like they cranked a knob somewhere and the whole thing has gone to shit. I don’t want to read sites with algorithm led feeds anymore. So I’ve come back to forums.

Any other people feel the same way?

I use reddit every now and then but for the most part it seems like an echo chamber designed to reinforce and reward popular ideas with the karma system instead of promoting intelligent discussion. Thats why I like Sherdog so much, all you need to do is go into the war room to see every other moron arguing over nothing. It's great entertainment.

Never really joined them much in the first place, saw that rubbish a mile off.......

The upvoting system is Reddit's greatest strength and their greatest weakness IMO.

There is value in the wisdom of the crowd. But for complex or nuanced topics the crowd is typically not willing to think that deeply, and they just ignore posts or down vote them because it doesn't fit their chosen side.

The interface sucks too though. And they try to spam you.

Also, there's no sense of community. Like here you have the same group of people, but every forum on Reddit feels like you're talking to people that you'll never hear from again.

I moved over from reddit to here. And I won worst newcomer of the year. You can never call me a loser again.

I go on it sometimes to check news or if there is anything interesting on the BJJ/Judo subreddits. Reddit mostly makes me cringe. It is like a popularity contest with upvotes and whoever disagrees even slightly gets downvoted lmao. If you are against the agenda, then you should expect your messages to get thrown to the trash. Most of Reddit seems to be a haven for the far left. It is a cesspool of extreme liberals voicing their opinions to see who gets the most upvotes.

I occassionally log on, but you're right. they flood you with rage bait, and other nonsense. even after you click "not interested" or "stop showing me material like this."
