Zubaira Tukhugov - In February 2018, it was announced that Tukhugov received a two years USADA suspension and contributed USD ten thousand dollar for the arbitration proceedings in testing positive for ostarine from a sample collected on October 29, 2016.

Islam Makhachev: After the weigh ins, the UFC announced that Makhachev had failed an out-of-competition drug screening, testing positive for the banned anti-ischemic meldonium.

Ruslan Magomedov: In February 2018, it was announced that Magomedov had received a two years USADA suspension after testing positive for ostarine in relation to a sample collected in October 29, 2016

Mairbek Taisumov: On April 11, 2019, it was reported that USADA issued a six-month suspension for testing positive of stanozolol metabolites in an in-competition sample collected on September 15, 2018 at UFC Fight Night

Y'all must've forgot?

Those Spetnaz special forces seem a different animal. Not relative exactly to MMA, but certain conditions make a harder person.

Literally only Islam is a good prospect on that list and his offense was cleared by USADA as a non issue.

Islam aside, these are b class fighters by Dagestan and Chechen standards.

Swing and a miss.

It has to do with Sambo being crazy effective imo.

Oh, this thread is to smear fighter's reputations.

Carry on.

Didn't the entire Russian olympic team pop for meldonium a few years ago? What country was the documentary Icarus focused on?

I’m pretty sure you could put as many American and Brazilian fighters as an example or more. PED are prevalent in all of the mentioned countries. Of course there will be some cheaters.

shit thread

Sambo is an incredible martial art. My teachers teacher was a student of one of the pioneers of sambo. They took judo and mixed it with various forms of wrestling found in Armenia, Romania and other countries that in or close to the soviet union.

In the history of martial art movies, they once made a sambo movie and only once:

Live in Russia for 10 years. Then come back and ask us again if you didn't see your answer.

Every time you're up against a Russian, you know it's gonna be a tough fight.

Do skinny black guys really have surprising strength and leverage or is it just juice?
See: Adesanya's tit and Jones's PED record

At this point (not speaking Russians specifically but in general in UFC) that considering how many are caught that must be tip of the iceberg. These guys know they are tested so I imagine there is a larger number who the right masking agents etc.

In Australian AFL, a heavily tested league (including recreational drugs), there was a player who took hard drugs for 3 or 4 years to the point the law caught up with him (but never got a positive test by the league).

I actually think a lot of the people caught are actually from tainted supplements because they are the ones not worrying about taking stuff to mask it. There are numerous examples that some of the amounts people are banned for would have given negligible competitive advantage. You often read stories from retired fighters describing it as normal in change rooms. As bad and terrible as it to take drugs, I tend to not read too much into it because I think it is currently just a battle to get around the testing rather than have a clean sport.
