Im having battery problem with my htc one x. It just feels so short. Its my first Android phone, is this the norm with android phones?

I've had my droid epic for a year and a half, and my battery dies out almost every other day. I don't use apps/internet a lot, but i have to make calls all the time for work. I'm not an expert on phones, but from personal experience, yes, the battery is shitty.

Unfortunately the one x doesn't have a replaceable battery. My wife has a galaxy note and you can buy an extra battery for like 5 bucks on amazon so you can always have a charged one with you if you run out.

wifi searching seems to kill the most battery for me

when I'm not near wifi, I have to remember to turn it off until I get home

bluetooth as well. Also apparently if you are going in and out of 4g service or switching between 3g and 4g it kills your battery.

I have the htc 4g sensation. Battery life sucks.

unfortunately HTC dropped the ball with them type of.batteries. Use it until it fully dies then charge it while its off it will help. Also go to menu>settings>accounts&sync>disable background data. you will have to manually refresh if u want to check email but it saves batery life.considerably.

Mine dies fast but it charges pretty quick. Cant complain too much this phone is awesome

Heard the Note II has a great battery. I'm thinking about getting it next.

Well at least you can just replace the battery.

1. turn everything off
2. Get a better ROM

It's pretty common:

The high-end Android phone with the best battery life at factory specification is the Motorola RAZR Maxx (aka "Droid RAZR Maxx" for Verizon); its upgrade is the Droid RAZR Maxx HD (for Verizon), and has the same battery but with a larger, high resolution screen, and faster hardware, so it won't have quite the same endurance rating. I don't believe the HD has been cracked, so if you're not on Verizon don't consider it.

This is a very good post and it's definitely true. You could also install a battery saving app (JuiceDefender).

It's not android per se, it's the model of phone you have. Some, battery life sucks, other's it's good.

Am I the only one thinking flip phones are the best? I have a BB right now, but that's only because I dropped my flip phone and I didn't want a touch pad for texting. I just love the long battery life, T9, and the simplicity of the flip phone.

Which makes me wonder, why are the flip phone these days so much crappier than 3~4 years ago? They were so bad, I was forced to get a BB. It was very sad.

I have a galaxy nexus and always have to charge my phone. I go through about 40 gigs of data a month so my battery takes a beating.

I can confirm this. It's the first smartphone i've had where I can just leave everything on all the time and not worry about making it through the day. Hell, I can leave everything on, forget to charge it overnight, and still make it through work the next day. With a more conservative power profile, it could easily last 3-4 days with no problem.
