The real issue is they did Luthen dirty in S2. He went from the mysterious cape with sith blades on his shuttle who had his ear to the ground and his finger in everything to a "get off my lawn" fudd who can't even keep his fooking 3 remaining employees happy lol. Andor hasn't been returning his calls, Vel is like fook this, Wilmon is doing a semester abroad in Paris while huffing paint with Saw Gerrera to forget about his thirsty farmer's daughter and even Kleya is sassing Luthen and making him look old.

That Luthen still had the means to cancel Tay Kolma's regular driver at the drop of a hat and have him replaced with Cinta for extracurricular sexy time says he's still a connected man of means and badassery. A guy that badass shouldn't have to call in his B-team guy who can't even defend a rape choke and ask him to save the MFing day twice in the same episode.
Great point.

I noticed him still working in the background but just took it as the Rebellion didn't agree with his tactics & so had to lessen his influence... and obviously not work directly with him any more than necessary.

He's been shifted to being an extremist similar to Saw, though to a lesser level of extremity. While this is understandable that Luthan sees more extreme measures that need to be tended too... (like perhaps teh blowing oop teh interrogation lab, & assassinating a top Empire supervisor) but they should've developed that contrast between the 2 methodologies a bit more.

He does seem to be on the way to castration... & will probably die in teh next ep... so lets see where this leads. Per your point, I'd like to see that contrast between teh Alliance & Luthan discussed & made clear.

Then Luthan can pull out teh light saber & lose his life in a battle against Vader~

Excellent breakdown. K2SO was originally gonna be some horror movie shit and there's character analysis about Syril

Haha yep. Plus she's constantly getting intel and doing A LOT of managerial stuff. Juggling plates.

That's true about Mon, and she's an important piece but there's multiple people who formed the Rebellion including other senators. I disagree with the Palpie comparison because he's from a line of Sith a millennia old who was specially chosen and is spoken of as the head of the Empire from the first movie. Mon is maybe second in command of the Rebellion at the highest but a lot of other people are at least as responsible for it's formation though she did help bankroll it from the start which of course is big.

I don't see how Cassian rescuing Mon makes him the only frontline badass nor involved in literally everything. There's waaay more going on beyond the scope of Andor not to mention he doesn't even do all the super important stuff in his own show; Luthen, Mothma, Kleya and Saw are constantly making moves, Cinta and Vel are also doing important missions in the background (Cinta saves the entire Rebellion by killing Tay), Wilmon is using his expertise, you've many others completely beyond their scope formalizing and building the Rebellion into an actual military power and establishing the base on Yavin IV, Bail Organa doing important work behind the scenes, Leia doing work, etc.

In fact if anything the show's premise is that there's a lot of important people who collectively are responsible for the fate of the galaxy, it's the opposite of the hero's journey portrayed in the movies, it exalts the boots on the ground and people working behind the scenes who are never recognized but integral. In Andor's two biggest contributions (Death Star plans, rescuing Mon) he takes part in missions that others organized and facilitated the logistics and support and they play at least an equal part. He's always shown as just one piece; he's the focus but not the most important part.

Even in the mission to rescue Mon, he would've failed without his bud's help and Kleya getting him the ID and intel and Luthen's maneuvering. I don't remember the guy's name but he was arguably more important to the mission than Andor, he found the bug and kept the Empire at bay while Andor got Mon out of there.

Edit: Oh yeah, and that's leaving on Lonni who's been providing inside intel that's been fueling the moves they've been making too.

You make good points and agree Mothma isn't comparable to Palpatine. But bruh. She's by far the most prominent OT character in Andor, so saving her has implications on SW canon.

Cassian doesn't do everything solo, but he's the guy where the rubber meets the road bashing heads to get the job done. Mechanic, intel, comms are critical too but they're service support vs. combat arms. Now Hollywood makes every job look dangerous and sexy but it was Andor and not Kleya or even Vel or Cinta who had to spend 2 days upside down in space rewiring a fighter prototype after having to escape feuding idiots in the jungle, because someone fed bad intel and then someone fucked up making sure his handoff contact was still alive. Even making it out of the hangar and escaping trained TIE fighters was James Bond shit.

Cassian seems to have been the main effort in every newsworthy rebel mission impacting the galaxy between 5 and 0 BBY.
  • Aldhani heist: getaway pilot and foiled the turncoat who would have killed the others for all the money. Netted the rebellion 80 million credits which is enough to buy 500 to 1200 X-Wing fighters. Only 22 X-wings were deployed to destroy the death star in ANH.
  • Ferrix massacre: he's the guy the Empire comes to apprehend. He and his BFF Brasso fuck up some Imperial shit and he rescues Bix and GTFOs out of there after Maarva's speech incites rebellion.
  • Steals the first canon prototype of the TIE Interceptor, on bad intel and impeded by idiots.
  • 1st round draft pick for Ghorman. Gives them the finger because he thinks they suck, disappointing Luthen who sends his B-team Vel and Cinta to get the job done. Still given 1st round preference to take out key Imperial asset there.
  • After the debacle on Ghorman, goes straight to the airport for a redeye flight to rescue Mothma, aided by her mansecretary and Kleya. Kicks ass and fills the room with uppercuts.
  • Steals the Death Star plans
And this is just what we've seen on the show in the annual bookend episodes of S2. Who knows WTF else he's done. And on a training budget of zero. Dude stole 80 million credits for the rebellion and they can't even pay for an online blue belt from Gracie University to teach him how to grapple. He did go K1 Andor for 5 seconds vs. Karn but still got his ass kicked by a nerd who poses souvenir spiders on his desk.

Also I'm not buying that Cinta killed Tay Kolma. I think Luthen had a talk with Kolma in the parking lot right before that scene.

That's all true but even on the things you mentioned it was never a one man show, the closest would be stealing the TIE (doesn't get anywhere near it without the help of at least multiple people). As an aside, stealing the TIE is one thing he did that I do have issue with, as he's not a trained pilot. I was fine with what they did, I get that him going into the cave and collapsing it was his hail mary that was done to explain how he got away from trained pilots but I feel like that needed a rewrite.

He gets literally nothing done without all the other elements in place, at least dozens of people with a few that we're shown being absolutely key. Even still, he's not Arnold Schwarzenegger in Commando lol. He's a part of a team that steals the Death Star plans and without a fleet showing up, a spy network, and defectors there's nothing to steal and he didn't even get those, Jyn did. Nothing moves without her and her dad.

If he didn't have an interesting story and didn't do anything noteworthy there'd be no point in the show. We may have to agree to disagree which is fine, but that's the way I see it, not to mention it's a huge galaxy with a lotta stories in it. I think they do a good job of balancing it between showing that he's a badass and giving him an interesting backstory but also showing that he's also not even close to the only important element. And it's true, who know what else he's done, but that applies to everyone else. It's a big galaxy; he didn't build the Yavin base or train an entire navy that it takes for the Rebellion to be a real force. Helping steal the Death Star plans is the only thing he's directly involved with that has anything to do with the story in the movies, the big, big time stuff and he's debatably not the MVP of that one.

The funny thing is that Kleya and Andor have a brief argument that is basically about support vs combat arms lol. She also saves the entire operation on Luthen's end by snatching that listening device. Without that one action in a show of many Mothma is had, Andor and multiple other agents are unemployed and/or captured or killed, etc and she doesn't even get that done without the mole assisting.

Lol, until I see proof otherwise I think Cinta waxed him for sure. She mentioned being in a bad accident to Vel, my guess is that she crashed the Jetson's mobile to kill him and got fucked up.

LOL bro I'm not saying Andor is a one man show and the service support peeps don't matter. I'm saying they've had him doing too much conventional action hero stuff on every mission which strains the show's excellent writing. He's like the meme detective in a black leather jacket who does what he wants and the commissioner can't stop him because he keeps filling every room with uppercuts.

Like Vel smacks down cocky kid on Ghorman, your job isn't to think, it's to follow orders. So why doesn't that apply to Andor? All he does is backtalk and/or ignore Luthen and Kleya yet they trust him and give him full discretion on his missions. Even Imperial tactical scarface guy had to suffer the indignity of reporting to non-combatant Dedra on that mission. They should have occasionally had Cassian support another rebel badass and/or miss out on being the cowboy.

Also the only thing Cinta waxed was her pubes right before giving Tay Kolma a happy ending .....on Tahiti Prime.

Haha well agree to disagree though I do agree about Andor supporting others from time to time but it is his show so my mind is able to override that because we don't see nearly everything he gets up to. With the time jumps Andor became a seasoned guerilla, Gilroy I believe originally wanted multiple seasons so we're relegated to these time jumps and basically a highlight reel.

If Tay makes a comeback I'll eat my shoe.

...I won't eat my shoe lol, but I know what you're saiyan, I just found it believable that he got driven to the little known planet of Merksville cuz that's how Luthen and Cinta roll. As an aside, sniping clearly isn't Andor's forte, this was foreshadowing for Rogue 1.

My only complaints for episodes 7,8,9 are

1: no Saw

2: no Krennic

I hope they both have a role in the last batch.

Holy hell did this series deliver. Finale was perfect 10/10.

only let down was they didn't show Tay Kolma partying like it's 1 BBY. After Cinta introduced him to that lifestyle, I thought the ending montage would show him in the back seat of the limo with Perrin pounding Chandrilan squig with three THOTs passed out on his arm too.

I waz expecting more fireworks for teh finale, but now I enjoy them putting their big climax in teh 3rd block & then tying everything oop in the final block.

At first I wondered if Luthan's final act was even valuable to the story, but re-watching Rogue One... they were able to track Jyn Erso down in the time it took Cassa to talk to the source that had over-heard the pilot Galen sent the message with. If they had to talk to the source first & then track down Jyn, it would've been too late to see the hologram from Saw & for her to talk to her dad.

I thought it would've been fun if Daedra turned on teh empire after they sent her into a war zone where her boy toy died. I mean, they could've given them a heads oop at the least. This waz pretty satisfying seeing her end oop in a similar production prison that Andy was in though.

I feel like teh first ep of the final block (& to some degree the 2nd) could've been shortened to make room for Galen sending his message with that pilot, but it's all good.

Wow, what an ending!!! I thought they were foreshadowing Bix dying when Andy was talking about walking away from the Rebels, & her death would bring him back, but this was much more satisfying.

Would be cool AF to tie teh child into the Skywalker Saga later as a teen somehow. Perhaps he was one of the kids with Jedi powers that Luke was training prior to Kylo burning them all.

I do like the idea that Andy waz a regular guy though... but they could do something with him. Teh timeline from Teh Manalorian until the Sequelz is pretty wide open.

Watching Rogue One after this. My god, Andor is so good. I don't rewatch things much but I will be rewatching the whole thing.
& then after that, go straight into A New Hope.

I saw Rogue One in teh theater opening weekend, & came straight home to watch a New Hope. Even though that waz like the hundredth time I had watched it, everything took on such a new meaning. That waz masterfully done.

Man, Tay's death was really hard on you. It's okay, he's one with the force meow

On first watch I thought the bar fight was WTF but watching again, they set it up brilliantly.

1) Pacifist fashionista dad guy confronts Karn and blames him for all the bad shit the Empire is doing. Karn is like WTF and fights him off with a rape choke.

2) Realizing he's hacked into unlimited power, Karn confronts Dedra and puts her in a rape choke. This gets him the answers he's looking for.

3) While Cassian is earning the "shittiest sniper in the galaxy" award for not taking any of the 87 clear shots he has at Dedra, Karn recognizes him as Fulcrum, blast doubles his ass and puts him in a rape choke. Of course it works and as Karn prepares to finish the job...

Cassian: Who da phuc are you?

4) Reeling from this sick burn and the reveal there are levels to this shit, Karn lowers his blaster too late because...

Pacifist fashionista dad guy: Fuck you and your fuckin' rape choke!!!

Honestly. ..probably the greatest break down & analysis ive ever read. 11/10 .... Wood.

Yep, Andor completely stuck the landing. I'm not surprised, but I'm still pleased

Episode 10 in particular might actually surpass episode 8 for me. Admittedly, I'm a huge sucker for "defector from the Big Evil Organization (TM)" stories in general, but I thought this one was particularly well done.

Also, I loved every second of Dedra's downfall over the course of the three episodes, especially her interrogation by Krennic. Her gradual realization that the leopards have finally come to eat her face was so satisfying to watch.

iTunes has the Mothma dance song, Brasso (not Niamos), on Andor Season 2 score Vol 1, and not counting the very low volume start for 1 min, it's about 2 min long. I'm guessing they'll release a longer remix later. iTunes has some, but not sure if they're covers.

Boy are those rebels quick to kill their intel sources. Understandable just in case they are captured and tortured or Force mind read, but still, stone cold.

K2-SO is da man. Kinda goofy playing cards against him. Glad they got him speaking English and not unintelligible beeps like R2-D2.

I wish the harakiri guy continued in the story. One of the more interesting Star Wars characters.

I also transitioned into watching Rogue One, background watching mostly, to see the opening Andor appearance.

Mothma's husb quick to connect with a ho. I guess they felt that was significant enough to make an ending scene of it.

What are the chances they make a show about the baby at the end? Or at least cartoon version show.

Even at the forest base, Bail Organa has to wear the fancy cape. I guess he was ranking senator so he gets to act like he's the boss of the rebels. Mothma's fanciness level went all the way to zero to match her bleh hairdo in Rogue One.

They stuck the landing.

Funny how alot of the complaints about Luthen you guys had after e 9 got answered immediately in e 10.

I've got to say I really enjoyed the release schedule, dropping 3 hours a week is a great balance between the drawn out 1 episode per week and just dumping the entire season at midnight.

Anti-personnel droids were terrifying. Even once he got rebooted to comic relief mode K2SO is still terrifying, holding officers up as casual meat shields and bitchslapping dudes into the abyss.

No spoiler, as I'm interested here about the hyperspace jump Leia's Tantive IV made at teh end of Rogue One. We open oop A New Hope wit Vader right on their tail. Teh fook?

So Vader transported from his flagship to teh rebel flag ship Profundity that Leia's ship Tantive4 un-docked from. Now Vader has to get back to his Flagship, & then follow them through hyperspace. Teh fook?

As it turnz out they explained this in some canon... Saying that the Profundity was locked into the tractor beam, but tractor beams don't just pull in... everything in its vicinity. It is focused on a single mass by their computers... so when teh Tantive4 dropped out from under teh neith, it wasn't caught. That said, the computers did recognize & follow it in an attempt to capture it... though not long enough to "catch" it.

Okay, that's a mouthful there, but another aspect of tractor beams is that grabbing & pulling... isn't all they do. There's a lot of analysis that's going on regarding size, shape, direction, propulsion fuel being emitted, hyperdrive emissions & and jump trajectory etc. These factors were also being used for hyperspace tracking at the time. Though rudamentary compared to what we saw 34 yearz later, it could get teh job done if the ship was within' tractor beam range.

As teh Tantive4 moved away, teh compterz on Vader'z flagship were tracking the Tantive4 in that same way while trying to grab it too. Though they didn't get a grip on it enough to stop it... they did track every single detail about their size, movement, direction & propulsion. Though all this data isn't exact, they knew for sure the "exact direction" & so could then estimate where they jumped to. Even if it took em a couple of jumps to find them, they knew teh "exact" direction & so that's how they found them.

So this begs teh question of why teh Rebelz didn't make a "2 jump strategy" a primary protocol when escaping from Imperial flagships. Fast forward 30 fooking yearz & they still hadn't figured that out.

Teh fookin' Rebelz needed me there! but I waz too busy stackin' Twi'lek poon in teh healing bathwaterz to be bothered. (I later switched exclusively to Tagruta'z after a summer fling with Ahsoka Tano) So I waz distracted... but I now feel personally responsible for every jump that was followed through hyperspace there-after, including teh annihilation of teh hole fleet in 34 ABY.

Had I rocked oop & went to Yavin as an advisor... we would've made a "2 jump protocol" standard... when escaping a Flagship. Luke & Obi would've never been involved had teh Tantive4 simply jumped to a random location & then again to tattoine before Vader got there. Or at least teh story would've been different.

Luke & Obi were destined to get together as teh force awakened in Luke, & they would've eventually got into the mix wit teh rebelz. I'm sure teh distruction of Alderaan would've put them into action since Obi sensed it.

I waz actually there when teh man pulled a light saber at teh Mos Eisley cantina.

At teh time, I waz Max Rebo's manager, but had a side gig as a salesman with a new line of more reliable power converters. (that's pretty much teh only reason I brought dis hot group to such a vile hive of scum & villainy)

I was literally at teh Tosche station at teh time Luke would've otherwise arrived at... if he didn't have to clean oop those droidz before diner. We would've been in teh back playing our usual high stakes Sabaac when Luke arrived & was dealt in.

After he cleaned us out, I offer him a life of adventure travelling wit teh Max Rebo band & cleaning out Sabaac tablez. His first hand knowledge of moisture evaporators would also be quite handy.

Getting rich quick would've fooked teh lil' guy oop & we would've been pretty high on Spice most of teh time, so he probably would've ended oop joining teh Emperor.

I guess it all worked out for teh best.
:(
