I have an iphone 3 and even when I want to buy an android phone next I really dont see a point in buying one now because my phone works very well, why would I change it

I have a tube TV in my room, same principle, its old but the image works perfectly well, dont see a point in changing it

I have 2 cars but my main car is a mustang 99.... same principle as the previous 2

It seems that everybody around me changes things because they are just "old" and it feels like Im the only one who believes I should only change stuff when they break down or its functioning impedes you from acomplishing a task, otherwise dont see a point in buying something new just for the heck of having the latest model

whats your take on this

I think you need to get over yourself. An iphone 3 is relatively brand new for a phone. My grandparents have been using the same phone for the last 30 years. Lots of people still have tube tv's. And guess what, 99 Mustangs are ugly. I bet it's an automatic as well. Good day.

Well that escalated quickly.

You're right, I should apologize. It's a good sentiment. I think it's mostly about having enough brains and will-power to avoid falling into the instant gratification trap that is consumerism nowadays. Keep what you have, use it until it's broken, because the newer generation shit probably won't last as long anyways.

Except the 99 mustang. Ghost ride that shit off a cliff man.

Jesus, what an asshole......Just kidding man. By the way, what kind of vehicle do you have? since you think mustangs are ugly lol

We live in a consumerist society. Companies bank on America's need to buy bigger, better, and newer shit. I will admit I have my weaknesses. However, I don't buy into the consumer bullshit. Generally people are sheep just waiting to be told what to do.

I have a 2011 Ford pick-up truck because I drive on logging roads and in the snow quite a bit.

It really depends what we're talking about. I am the type to run shit into the ground but somethings that are new are just infinitely better for the purpose than what I already have.
