I just did a quick search and already found 7 threads in 50 seconds if not saying Aljo was BW GOAT questioning if he was or would be. Majority was still Dom Cruz for sure but there was a contingent making arguments for Aljo citing his resume being supposedly better and Aljo finishing 1 armed TJ while Dom went to SD and Aljo beating Henry while he KOd Dom.

I don't discount Cruz WEC defenses.

This was the Bantamweight division before it was merged into the UFC and taken over as is. Changing the logo on the octagon floor doesn't suddenly remove WEC defenses in my opinion. This is why Cruz became UFC champ immediately upon merging and his first UFC fight is officially a title defense.

Also your point is incorrect my brother. Cruz defended the title twice, was stripped, reclaimed it and defended it again at UFC 199 before losing it to Cody.

Stipe has six title wins, Cain has four. This is why most have him ahead of Cain in the HW all time rankings. Both guys lost and reclaimed their titles as well.
