While most people talk about Khabib and Whittaker, Volkov gets mostly forgotten and he had a great showing tonight. He was noticeably bigger (265 lbs) and instead of trying to score points, he was going forward trying to finish the fight which he eventually did.

He’s 8-2 in his last ten fights, the only losses are to Lewis and Blaydes, the two fights he should have won.

I think Volkov is definitely top 5 and should fight a top guy like Overeem or Rosenstruik next

he shouldve won against Blaydes? Wooot, he clearly lost most of that fight

Volkov was definitely impressive here, wasnt expecting a finish

hes not that great overall tho. I think Minakov is still better than him TBH

Yes, he lost first three rounds due to inferior wrestling but then he had Curtis on the ropes for the last two rounds and God knows how he survived to get that decision win

Minakov is definitely better, he defeated him, but he’s not likely to fight again

Volkov is certainly one of the best technical strikers in the HW division. It's not gonna end well for anyone that stands with him (except when Derrick Lewis had the miracle KO after being dominated for the whole fight). However his grappling definitely seems questionable, so it's hard to imagine him ever getting the belt, unless the matchups line up perfectly.

Impressive bounce back performance against a dangerous opponent, and more impressively, his new back tattoo liked much better than his old one

I really didn't write anything... but people thinking a 37 year old slightly obese Harris was gonna beat Volkov were delusional...

He only ever stood a puncher's chance like Lewis (Who Volkov dismtanled for 3 rounds and basically lost a won fight).

Abdulmanap was right though, he need to work on his wrestling and change camps if he is ever to become champion. His stand up is solid, one of the best in the division.

Volkov is very good yes, maybe he should avenge the horrible Lewis loss? Volkov will fight for the title at some point but I really don't see him doing well against the top ~3 guys though.

Its just nice to see a heavyweight with good standup and intelligent pressure. Ngannou is a cheat code

His TDD is awful but his grappling defense his pretty good, he surprized me against Blaydes.
That said I don't think taking wrestling classes will help him to avoid decapitation by Ngannou. He's slow and quite hittable.

Minakov is a very good GnP fighter which is always going to be a tough match for Volkov.

To be fair if Ngannou ends up taking a busy fight then he is probably as good a candiate as anyone.

Karate base :)

Looked good against Harris and timed him well. Hard to say whether he improved.

Volkov has a champ potential.
Needs to improve his boxing ,SC and speed.

He's solid and has 5 round stamina, which separates him from a lot of other heavyweights.

As long as he survives the 1st round, most people are going to gas against him.
